In the one for the Marine Corps Times it was reported " Your Marine Corps Marine Corps short 6 infantry battalions, Navy short 100 ships, this new strength index says"

In other words, Trump had nothing to do with it. They just identified the problem. Now, Biden and congress can build the marines up to this "new strength index". Anyone want to bet that is going to happen?

Without a point of reference, your post has zero meaning. Did we lose ships? Did we gain ships, but fell short?
Did we lose personnel? Did gains fall short? If so, why?

lf we started bringing troops back home, we would be even better.

Of course Trump has nothing to do with this. He was asked for the funds, he GRANTED them. Trump doesn't allocate them. That's what the top brass do. 3/4 advised Obama admin.

The President hasn't been responsible for direct allocation since before WW2. Even way back then, the President only was allocating for a few special intel units

I agree. Too bad we're about to get the opposite in January. Biden wants more involvement in Syria and more troop buildup around Russia.

    More deployments.

It is bizarre that we use our defense structure to defend everything but the U.S. I spent some time in South Korea. I have no idea why we are there.

I completely agree. It's called the Department of Defense. Not the department of offense.

Also, the NATO mission ended under Reagan. The mission was to deter Soviet advancement. The Soviet Union was dissolved.

We are spending so much unnecessary money. The fact that Russia WANTS to fight ISIS in Syria means that it's a win/win for us. We can let them slaughter the terrorists on their dime.

Biden wants way more involvement and it's just a useless. As an Officer we do Risk Assessments. The percentage is not favorable for any unit to go to Syria.

Also, Biden believes we should stay in Iraq and Afg and ADD troops.

They believe they have a mission to police the planet. They should watch how China gets its way. It is more effective and less costly than our system.

Every war since WW2 we have been involved in has been a complete disaster for U.S.taxpayers.

That's what Trump supporters have been saying for a while. That's why we need to focus on the US now, and not policing the planet. It's called "The Department of Defense" not the Department of Offense. Don't you understand what Biden said for his foreign policy with Syria, Iraq, Afg, and Russian border with eastern Europe? That's MORE troop involvement and MORE money.

The left got mad with Trump's America first and now they are championing Biden...

    It makes NO sense.

Of course it makes no sense. Nothing they ever do makes any real sense. That's the problem with people who desire power for it's own sake without any real understanding of either it's uses or its limitations.

The Obama military complex shifted DRASTICALLY from his 2007 speeches. From 2009 to 2016 the promises he made turned opposite. Surges in Iraq/Afg. Libyan drone strikes...the list goes on. He cut the budget and increased our involvement of international conflicts and masked it by saying "I'm going to downgrade the amount of troops in Iraq/Afg". It messed up the budget. Biden literally said he plans to take the Obama foreign policy strategy. It's mind blowing that Dems support this nut and blamed Trump for trying to get us out of all these unnecessary conflicts.

I look forward to being able to blame Biden when he's President. The Dems can't pull the race card anymore. They elected a Rich, White, 1%er Elitist, for President. Now they are about to know how it feels again to get all the blame.

Biden is nowhere near a !% er., Rich Mitch is worth ten times or more than what Biden is worth.

A military is always rebuilding and replacing and the money went to personnel and equipment and logistics and planning and supplies. So if you are for more money for the DoD I'm with you. Do I think Biden and the Dems are going to do that, nope. So let's see where the DoD is when the midterms get here.

Also went to rebuilding units that were closed during the Obama administration that are trying to reopen. Virginia had quite a few.

It sounds like they are mismanaging their funds.

If we were in a major war, then yes that would be the case. The funds have been allocated to units that were forced to close under our last administration, plus (insert any conflict we have been in for decades) as well as the new unit trainee model which adds an extra 30,000 dollars to every single recruit- fiscally.

And the basis of this sounds like is? How much should the military spending be and how much protection do you want?

remember early on when Trump made his people go around the table and each one had to praise him on national tv - the guy has a very fragile ego

Your basis for that statement is based on personal information? We have some of the finest equipment of any military. That is why other nations buy our equipment.
