    the people voted for Biden, if Trump stole the election, people would no longer have faith in the system

    we would then have to get rid of the EC for good, so I do not think republican would allow this to happen

    Some of the bluer states would secede, and Trump would let them. Which would ultimately be the best outcome. Here's hoping.

    Most states require their electors to follow the popular vote and they can legally void any vote which doesn't do that.Only 3 states allow electors to go against the popular vote.

    electors no longer play the role anticipated by the founders because they don't need to. Most people could not vote. Most people could barely read. Very few had any access to information on which a 'smart' vote could be cast. It would be a terrible betrayal for electors to vote against their state's popular vote now. The popular vote is not a suggestion, its an order.

    The lower class, illiterate people, etc. would not have done themselves a favor electing Trump. Because Trump barely can read, doesn't mean that he deserves to be king of the illiterates.

    Trump does not deserve to be king of anybody, a very hard truth for him to accept, no doubt. History is replete with kings just like him - nasty, entitled narsacistic, incompetent fools who just happened to be the firstborn son. And no, the lower class illiterates did not benefit.

    That is iffy because no state law says they will void the vote, only punish the elector and no faithless elector has ever had their vote reversed.

    Forcing someone to vote a certain way is the definition of undemocratic. Essentially you are saying the electors vote is irrelevant and we don't need them which would certainly be unconstitutional so you might to rethink that changing vote thing.

    This would be a disaster. It was a bad idea when media figures tried to get the electors to change their votes the left gave death threats to electors in 2016, and it's a bad idea this year. If the electors don't vote for the candidate that won their state, and it changes the election, it's the beginning of the end for our system. The country probably won't survive it.

    Which three?

    Trump is attempting this, it's why he has called a few of the Republican legislators in key state to visit him in the Oval Office, but as far as I've heard, none of them are on board. I don't think he could get any states to go along with such a blatant power grab, certainly not enough to give him 270 EC votes.

    These were fringe calls in 2016, not the stance of the Dem party, Hillary Clinton, nor the vast majority of Dem voters.

    Now, it is not only Trump trying to overthrow the election, by background efforts to have electors defect, it is 3/4 of Trump voters who support his efoorts because he has convinced them that the election was stolen. it should be easy to see the difference.
