Believing something doesn't make it true. Presidents cannot receive compensations for pardons, they can't sell them. Flynn was not going to be prosecuted unless this judge delayed justice for political purposes. We have a Constitutional right to SWIFT justice in this country. Judges cannot infringe on the plenary powers of the Executive branch in making prosecutorial decisions nor claim some authority to so for political purposes. The case was over the minute the DOJ said it would agree to a pull back of the guilty plea not seek further prosecution. And a defendant has a right to withdraw a guilty plea up until the time of sentencing.

Why were they asking him the questions in the first place what crime were they investigating? We have the emails where they discussed that if they could get him to lie then he could charged and be fired. Is that the role of the FBI?

Yes and had already withdrawn his guilty pleas in agreement with the prosecutors.

Yes he is and even hired his own counsel to argue that before him. Judges do NOT decide who gets prosecuted the Executive Branch Department of Justice does.

Like what that Flynn would have anything to which to testify?

<COMMENTS EDITED> Show me where it says POTUS cannot receive a quid pro quo for a pardon. Let's start there.

You spend 5 million then have your family threatened. I suppose you would throw your own family under the bus.

Who spent 5 million? If it was Flynn, he should be asking for a significant refund, especially from the incompetent Powell.

They were asking him questions because he’d been lying to the VP about the nature of his calls.

What will it matter? Probably he'll just retire and write his memoirs which are bound to be a best seller. Maybe he'll get into politics, you could imagine the rapturous reception he'd get at any GOP rally?

LOL, it was Powell who was successful. Flynn is innocent and she proved it.

If he told the fbi the truth, his family goes under the bus?

Good. If he's bankrupt he may think twice before he breaks the law again.

What prosecutorial abuse ? That's just YOUR opinion.

Regardless of the pretext for speaking with Flynn, no laws were broken, except by Flynn.

You could hold that view right up until he pled guilty under oath. But, then he did plead guilty under oath.........twice!!

He didn't break the law and you don't know what you are talking about, the prosecutors withheld exculpating evidence violating his constitutional rights as a defendant. That is not a debatable point they had to admit it in court after his attorney's sued to get all the records. They threatened to investigate and financially ruin is son unless he pled guilty. The ran this on and on and on and now the judge is trying to do so in spite of the guaranty of a speedy trial so they could ruin him financially and force a plea.

And again why were the FBI agents there to have a "casual conversation" anyway, what crime were they investigating?

They weren't investigating a crime... which is why they sent the lead counterintelligence guy at the FBI instead of regular FBI...

What crime is that and why didn't they go to the VP and tell him and the President. And the VP has no authority over the NSA and if the NSA doesn't want to tell the VP something they don't have too. They report to the PRESIDENT and act on the instruction of the PRESIDENT. They knew the entire brief conversation and exactly what Flynn said to the Ambassador what was the crime? We know why they went we have the emails, why can't you admit it? We have what Comey said. They were looking for a perjury trap in order to get him removed because they didn't like him or his policies and positions. The investigation into Flynn was OVER, it had ENDED with no collusion with Russians or illegal acts. And even the agents who interviewed him said in their notes no crime no deception.
