Propaganda is pushing one-sided news. Republican platforms are not nearly as big as progressive platforms.

people can create alternative sites, and they can create their own TOS, the last political board I was on turned far right, so I switch to this one - choice is good - I do not want a far left or far right site

Propaganda is the promotion of BIG LIES,over and over and over to forward an agenda.

That would be perfect description of Trumpism, to wit:

"Man made climate change is a hoax"

"The press is the enemy of the people"

"Democrats rigged the election".

I have conservative friends who frequently post something on Facebook. My news feed never shows their posts, even though I never unfollowed them. I know they post frequently, because I see their posts on their profile if I actually enter it.
At the same time, I have progressive friends whose posts I see all the time, sharing silly partisan memes, news, or opinions. And I never particularly followed or unfollowed any of them.

There is only one conclusion to be made out of this phenomenon - its obvious that Facebook cannot show every public post from every user it has, so they apply some filters to what actually reaches you. Those filters seem to have a heavy political bias.
That’s why Facebook is sick and should not be used. I totally regret getting all of my friends on the platform throughout the years.

I think there is a lot of money to be made for some web app developer who would design a site that connects multiple social media platforms together and they show you updates from your friends from other platforms by scanning their profiles, not news feed. Back in the wild Wild West of the internet of early 2000’s, there used to be apps that linked multiple chat platforms together (like ICQ, AOL messenger, etc). Someone can take that idea and extend it to social media. This would totally kill the power of social media giants over what you see on your news feed.

 

He did that by seizing control of the media...

That can't be true. I keep hearing that Youtube is a monopoly, with so much barrier to entry, it's impossible for any other social media company to get started.

 

For the record, FB posts by my republican friends & family show up all the time.

I can hear how Trump is a maniac and a god, all in one screenshot.

I disagree with allowing or requiring Alphabet, Twitter, Facebook, etc. to censor the contents of users' posts for the veracity of the content.

Having had 25 years experience in the corporate world I'm of the opinion that folks occupying the C level offices are the last people on earth I trust to effectively become the arbiters of truth.

If some folks wanna watch crap from OANN "claiming there's a guaranteed cure" for C19 by all means let them.

If folks wanna watch PragerU garbage, by all means, enjoy the show.

Facebook knows the relationships between people. It doesn’t block posts by relatives.
It does block posts from people with whom it sees you have little communication.

Conservatives are major supporters of censorship. They would never try to force churches or other religious institutions to post pro-gay or pro-abortion advertisements in their newspapers. They are more than happy to allow religious institutions to censor and ban all sorts of views they do not agree with, from appearing in their flyers, websites etc.

Freedom of religion. It's different.

For profit corporations should not be required to house any speech that violates their code of conduct. Period. You can't force a pizza place to serve sushi.

 

So like I said there are many instances where conservatives do support censorship.

 

That's not censorship. A private church can't, by definition, censor speech. Only the government can.
