According to the CDC, there have been almost 300,000 excess deaths due to COVID-19. Additionally, Briand presented data of total U.S. deaths in comparison to COVID-19-related deaths as a proportion percentage, which trivializes the repercussions of the pandemic. This evidence does not disprove the severity of COVID-19; an increase in excess deaths is not represented in these proportionalities because they are offered as percentages, not raw numbers.

Unfortunate, but this is actually one of those unintended consequences that store owners invited. The idea that you need a business license to operate a business makes it possible to keep your competition to minimum. All of these businesses like hair salons that enjoyed the lack of competition from just anybody putting a sign up saying "haircuts 5 dollars" are paying the price.

Their website says they have an 18 month contract and their no contract memberships require $100 joining fee so there doesn't seem to be any indication that two weeks would have killed them.
