Iran did it. Anything to blame on the Jews. Biden supporters will lap it up, of course, because they hate Israel. It’s a Jew-hating thing for them, you see.

Interesting you mention Biden. I have read this is seen as serious as the murder by the US of Gen Qasem Soleimani.....so where does Biden fit into this. The suggestion was that Trump wants war with Iran so that Biden cannot sort out the Nuclear Deal. Unfortunately Iranian Monitor is not posting to give us more of an idea of how it is seen in Iran.

Trump and war before January is though something that I have seen suggested before. If this is as serious as suggested, Israel would not have done it without US support. They would want the US to have their back.

True, that is how Iran sees it and that is how we would see it if we did not have double standards. It used to be that the civilians of democratic countries did not support Governments engaging in these assinations but sadly those times are well gone.

Biden wants the Obama-Biden Administration back in on the Iran Deal. So they knock off an Iranian "somebody" just to make it look atrocious enough for Iran to blame Israel; our President-Hopeful Biden swoops in as a friend to Iran and sides with them against Israel; reopens the Iran Deal. Just like clockwork.

The Iranian government ALSO wants the U.S. sanctions to cease, that is, wants the nuclear deal back on. So there is no NEED for your ludicrous plot twist of the Biden team somehow managing to set up a hit on a scientist in Iran-- you know Biden has no control over U.S. Intelligence, or Special Ops, or Military forces of any kind, yet, right?-- in order to make that happen.

Secondly, even if he is not an unflagging supporter of Israel, NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO-- which I personally don't know, since that's not something that my radar is so finely-attuned to as yours apparently is (& I wouldn't assume to gauge Biden's attitude by Obama's)-- what would be the problem with that? He is going to be President of the United States, not of Israel. You may view the best interest of the U.S. to support Israel in all cases, without question; but that does not make it so. The rationale behind that case, that I've heard explained (but if yours is different, by all means, please share it), is that Israel is the only island of stability-- a strong, "secular" democracy-- in the Middle East; a friend we can trust. But there are valid arguments to be made against that theory of the case, one of which being that stability is better served by a peaceful, mutually-agreeable settlement of this long-standing dispute, & showing ourselves to be a biased player essentially removes us from being a peace-broker.

As I have read things Biden is very much a 'friend of Israel'. However, he appears to still believe a two state solution is possible. Two States is what most US Jews have continuously supported although most people have for a long time believed it impossible making one state for all its citizens the only rational and honorable solution.

The Iranian Nuclear deal was started by Bush and finished by Obama. It was twelve years in the making and signed not only by the US but also by the UN, France, UK, Germany for EU, Russia and China. The stated belief which may well have been wrong was that Iran would have nukes ready very soon. Iran kept the deal. Trump reneged on the deal apparently having been told Iran would come running to him and he could ask for anything he wanted and they would do it and everyone would remember him as such a 'peaceful' man. The other signatures did not want to go against the deal. The US adminstration threatened to also sanction any country who did business with Iran pushing Iran, like Venezuela into a situation where citizens were dying. Iran claimed to be able to feed them but that many were dying because there were some medicines which they needed to import but now were unable to get. Whether people started dying of hunger after Covid 19 I am not sure but the UN spoke of the US as being involved in something like a crime against humanity for continuing what was basically a blocade against a country during the Pandemic ( a country which had itself done nothing to deserve this.) Of course acting like this has pretty much made the US friendless and has enormous work going on to replace the dollar, a situation which would allow the US people for the first time to understand what real poverty is like.

Iran has always claimed she is not making nukes. Here is what Juan Cole says on this

Really although you first blamed Iran for this murder and then suggested it was Biden, what you said suggests that Trump and his close relationship with Netanyhu would be the ones to have the motivation. Cole does not think that Iran will bite

If Vegas made book on these types of events, Israel would be far & away the favorite, here. Netanyahu has even made comments that he would not rule out an attack on Iran, if they continued working in the direction of producing a nuclear weapon. Since Israel is the country at most risk to Iranian nukes, they are the ones with the greatest incentive to act.

And, of course, NO ONE, is going to claim credit for (or, "own up to,") the attack. Ever.

You are the first person I've seen advocating the single-state solution, as do I. Frankly, I think that Palestinian leadership has missed the boat in even considering this. I even sent my argument to the Palestinian mission to the U.N. explaining the logic of this course, to no avail.

Clearly, Israel's current leadership has no intention of a fair split, leaving a cohesive, independent Palestinian state on their border; and the further the Israeli settlements proceed, the less likely that any future Israeli govt. will try to dismantle them. But as long as Palestinians insist on their own state as the only acceptable solution, it allows foreign countries to shrug their shoulders, calling it, though unfortunate, a very complicated situation, which requires the two principal groups to work out a solution themselves.

And while this drags on, year after year, decade after decade, the Palestinian people suffer, their potential evaporated like water poured out upon the desert. If instead, Palestinians could unite behind the idea of doing what was in their best interest, they would abandon insistence on their own state (for now), & acknowledge that they only wanted to be treated like any other Israeli citizen which, seeing as they've been living under de facto Israeli rule, on lands under Israeli control, for all these years, they would certainly be seen to have a claim to.

The world would then, instead of being faced with a political quagmire that no one really wants to get too caught up in, be presented with a very different situation: another Apartheid.

While Israeli politicians would be loathe to make Palestinians citizens, they might not be left with many options, if the world responded as it had towards South Africa which, by the way, was none-too-keen on giving equality to black citizens there, either. Especially, since Israel's economy relies heavily on tourism, so that a world-wide travel ban to Israel would be crippling. Add to that, if U.S. citizens, en masse, called for us to join the boycott-- and it's hard to see any American Administration justifying another country's enforcing such a system of inequality over one particular ethnic group, denying them what we would consider to be basic human rights, if that was all Palestinians were asking for-- and this nation claiming to be a democracy, no less, & one of our closest allies-- the huge loss of U.S. financial & military aid would be too much for Israel to withstand, for too long.

Ironically, if that were to be the situation Netanyahu's government, & the rest of Israel's politicians, and people, were to find themselves in, it could well provide the motivation, lacking to this point, to actually offer Palestinians their own state (as a preferred option to making them full-fledged, voting citizens). However, if they were made citizens, their overall welfare would see a quick & dramatic improvement. Yet there would still be the option, down the road-- in fact, much more tangibly than it now exists-- for Palestinians to elect representatives into the Israeli government who might eventually vote in favor of splitting Israel into a Jewish, and a Palestinian, state.

The EU organised the Palestine-Israeli Journal I think over a decade ago to arrange discussions and tell them what they could do which would most help the securing of a Palestinian State. They said that they should make it clear to Israelis who wanted a Jewish State that the only way this was going to remain a possibility was not only if they stopped settlements but if they also cut back on them. Without that there could be only one result. One state with equal rights for all its citizens.

Shin Bet have apparently always believed a two state solution was necessary but also as seen in a video they released they did not believe that one Israeli PM had wanted or worked for one. (This was by Retired Shin Bet) When the UK was having a backbenchers vote on recognising a Palestinian State they were sent this video to watch with the hope that someone would be able to get through to Israeli Politicians. The important point here is that they too believed that if Israel did not work for a two state solution, while she could, the result would in the end be the end of any hope for a Jewish State.

I agree with you that for some time this has been the only just solution and have felt that the US continuation of talking about 'two states' has been to camoflague that it is fine with Israel continuing to take more land and the Palestinians suffering more and more. There have though been people who have been working for this and I have read that certainly among Palestinians those in favour have been growing in recent years.

Israelis and Palestinians have now come together to pursue this. Here is their manifesto

    Manifesto – all (onestatecampaign.org)

Here is another link advocating the work which is going on for a single democratic state.

Palestinians and Israelis call for a Single Democratic State

and you are right it would need a bit of encouragement. Again the Palestine/Israeli Journal have done work on this making suggestions on how this could be achieved although that was some years ago.

I am sure that Israel did it since that is about all they can do given their lack of capacity to launch a sustained attack against the Iranian nuclear sites and the US refuses to do it in their stead. Probably derails Biden's bold plan to re-impose the limp-wristed nuclear deal with Iran.

Oh well. The planet keeps spinning and life goes on. Well except for Mr. Fakhrizadeh.

Amazes me how many of you condone terrorism, obviously Israel was created by terrorists, even made a piece of terrorist scum PM. But I am surprised that so many people from other countries support terrorism.
I detest terrorism whether it is a airliner into the twin towers or the murder of an elderly scientist.
