Sharyl Attkisson describes the change in treatment of Donald Trump by the media in the last two decades. It’s astonishing. And illustrates how a narrative (which obviously has no place in objective journalism) can skew the MSM news (which is actually opinion pieces) today. “Slanted” - Sharyl Attkisson - 2020
Regarding "Martínez tells me, “In 2004, a CNN documentary described Trump as ‘beloved,’ ‘the world’s most popular businessman,’ ‘literally the gold standard,’ ‘a national phenomenon,’ ‘Trump has always worked hard and lived clean,’ and ‘He really is very smart, very sassy, very tough, but a warm and caring guy.": Whoever wrote that is full of it or is ignorant. It's pure bullshit. I lived in NYC for years, and Trump was a subject of ridicule and derision. He wasn't called The Donald out of respect or affection ... it was sarcasm and ridicule. He was nearly universally reviled for his shady business practices, his many bankruptcies, and his long-standing habit of defaulting on creditors, suing them instead of paying, and delaying in the courts until they either went out of business or settled for pennies on the dollar. He was only tolerated for the small bit of entertainment his antics provided. Why do you think that established banks won't do business with him? Why do you think he has to use shady and corrupt institutions like Deutsche Bank (currently paying billions in fines for laundering money for Eastern European oligarchs) to get funding for his ventures?
Sorry, but the documentary was interviewing Trump and those were the words Trump used to describe himself.
Why would I? A documentary lauding the wonderfulness of Trump is the last thing I want to watch. I'd prefer a nice, quiet train wreck, thank you. Like I said, I lived there. And it was during Rudy's reign as mayor, so I'm very familiar with him as well. Unlike most Americans who only knew him through his handling of the 9/11 aftermath, his descent into lunacy did not surprise me at all. I saw the man in drag, ffs.
Curious how most of the people on the right show such deliberate ignorance of the truth about both Trump and Giuliani.
