if the employer tried and the employees or customer disobeyed the rules, they yes, it would be on the employees

that is that I said, the employer put the signs up to protect the business to reduce the legal risk

Years ago I received a letter from a law firm saying I was part of a class action suit against some another credit company, included was a check for my cut, 78 CENTS!!! Had it framed and proudly on display till I lost it in a move. True story!

Have you heard of a single case where the employer refused to allow employees wear masks? If not then it is a mute point. BTW, I am not disagreeing with you. I am merely clarifying the point. In Virginia, the signs are mandatory. Yet, there is no provisions to enforce them. The Governor's mandate required the State's Health Department to enforce the mandate, but they do not have the personnel or resources to enforce the mandate. So, here the signs are a requirement under the mandate. They were not put up to protect the business.

yes, I agree, but business owners want to protect themselves from being sued, not following safety guidelines puts the business at risk

There are several I believe, some sherriff dept near Tampa I think. Too lazy to google.

Another, publix supermarket, I believe until either June 1 or May 1, no masks allowed by employees then they did a 180 and required every employee to have one overnight.

Remember, during that timeframe, Dr. Fouci, the WHO, and the CDC was saying that masks were only required by the Sick and those treating the sick. So, if someone attempted to sue Publix for that policy, they would be covered by the statements of those that were supposed to be the authority on the protocols.

I appreciate you bring Publix to my attention. But it may have been a problem with a single store. I have shopped at the Store near me, and every employee had masks on. I spoke to my mother who shops at a location in Georgia. She said they were wearing masks even before their local Walmart was.

I shop at one 5-6x a week, its 1/4 from home, and I used to work at one. It would be very odd for them to do anything like this at the stores discretion, unless the city or county had an override, miami for example.

In my county, multiple stores visited, They wouldn't let employees wear masks at first, "scares the customers " I specifically asked them about it, then one saturday out of the blue every employee had one on.

I try to avoid walmart, IMO it was dirty before the pandemic, its worse now, but since all their essentials online are out of stock, I go there 1x a month, then disinfect with spray and wipes, then spray again, walmart makes me uncomfortable to be honest.
