    What can you tell me about Brand other that she is a teacher of economics? The link says that there are excess deaths. Have you checked her figures?

    I understand what you’re saying, however, it is the CDC that updates our national database of how many people have died, and causes of death, thus, “their entries”.

    In addition to the above, how CDC calculates/will calculate its 2020 mortality rates?

    A significant difference assuming we had 3M deaths in 2020, and using the following methods of calculations;

    Method # 1. U.S. Census mid-year estimated population; 329M

    329M/1,000 = 329,000

    3M deaths/329,000 = 9.12 deaths per 1,000 pop

    2. Worldometer year-end estimated population; 332M

    332M/1,000 = 332,000

    3M deaths/332,000 = 9.03 deaths per 1,000 pop

    9.03 + 1% = 9.12

    Different methods, however, one can easily increase the mortality rate by 1%, and/or play with numbers.

    And their guidelines show that if anyone dies who has a Covid-19 infection that Covid-19 is the cause of death. Their data is discredited.

    They died due to diabetes. Persons without the serious preconditions defined by the CDC are at very low risk. They were not protected and/or did not take Vit D, zinc, and/or an anti inflammatory medication such as hydroxychloroquine as prophylactics or early in their infections.

    Once again, CDC’s 2020 Mortality Rate will undoubtedly reveal an excess;

    Estimated 2020 Mortality Rate (excluding Covid19)

    2019’s 8.782 deaths per 1,000 pop + a growth rate of 1.12% = 8.880

    U.S. Census estimated mid-year population; 330M

    330M/1,000 = 330,000

    330,000 x 8.88 = 2,930,400 deaths

    Assuming an excess of 200,000 deaths;

    2,930,400 + 200,000 = 3,130,400 deaths

    3,130,400/330,000 = 9.486 deaths per 1,000 pop

    Thus, below or over 9.486 deaths per 1,000 pop?........Unknown.

    AND

    Causes of death; Argumentative

    What explains it is the very contagious nature of this virus. It infects many more people than seasonal flu. The death rate, however, seems to be pretty similar at much less than 1%. It is very contagious but not very deadly. Government, for some reason, is stoking the hysteria surrounding this outbreak.

    Government and industry and the media, for the obvious reasons of power and money, are stoking the hysteria.

    LOL you keep ignoring he 300,000 excess deaths above previous years, 1% of a big number is higher than 1% of a lower number. The Covid virus has a much higher death rate than seasonal flu and is much more contagious - two measurements that are very significant.

    Excess to what? There have been around 270,000 deaths for people testing positive for COVID. We don't know what actually killed them because we don't do autopsies on those cases. We have no idea of how many actual cases there have been because a case requires a test and we don't test everybody - or even close to everybody. So any death rate is a guess. My guess is that the death rate is similar to that of seasonal flu. You can accept any guess you like. I'm not suggesting mine is the best guess. I only suggest that the "science" is not clear.

    About half the total are deaths that occurred in nursing homes and it is a fair guess that virtually all of them died from a pre-existing condition that was complicated by COVID. I say that because, according to the CDC, 94% of tested cases of people over 70 survive. That number includes the nursing home fatalities in their guesstimate.

    Since I am over 70 and have no less than three problematic pre-existing conditions, I have followed the data pretty carefully over the past year. I'm not afraid of the virus. I am careful to stay out of range of other people just in case but fear never enters into the equation for me. I don't buy the hysteria.

    nearly 10 months of this virus and you ask "excess to what"! I'm not going waste anymore time with someone who doesn't know what excess total deaths refers to

    Internet insta-experts..

    They don't need specialised degrees on top of their medical degree. Or decades of working with diseases.

    They know what Breitbart or 4 Chan told them, so they know... well, nothing, really.

    In other words, the fascist Trump administration has mass murdered enough people to fill three and a half Michigan stadiums.

    Trump's "The Loser" death toll is more than 3X times the seating capacity of Michigan stadium of 100,000 seats and...1X times Anahiem Angel Stadium of 45,000 seats.

    In addition to the above, FIVE Republican States will soon surpass New York's/Governor Cuomo's Covid19 deaths per 1M pop.

    In this forum, who remembers Trump's loyalists criticizing Cuomo's handling of Covid19?

    Well, I know who they are, and I will rattle their cages.

    Note: I have a grudge towards below average intelligent people.

    Yes, it's very generous for El Paso to hospitalize patients from Juarez, Mexico, and for U.S. insurance policy holders to pay the costs.

    We had the same migrant-patient issue impacting the southern counties of Texas a couple months ago. Now it's El Paso's turn to care for our neighbors south of the border. Most have untreated high blood pressure and diabetes. Pray for them and their families.
