Texas brought a huge case to the Supreme Court against the swing states of Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin earlier this week, pitting the southern stronghold against a system primed to hand the election to presumptive President-elect Joe Biden.

Although some experts think Texas’ attempt to address “irregularities” is doomed, multiple Republican state attorneys general indicated they plan to join the legal battle as supporters of the Lone Star State.

The attorneys general of Missouri and Arkansas signaled their support of Texas’ lawsuit shortly after the state’s Monday filing with the Supreme Court, while the attorneys general of Louisiana and Indiana said the court should hear the Texas case.

Republicans in the House are challenging the Constitution? That's crazy!

The Supreme Court on Tuesday denied a last-minute attempt by Trump’s allies to overturn the election results in Pennsylvania. In legalese, the Court told Trump to shove it.

Attorney General William Barr last week said the Department of Justice has not seen any evidence of fraud that would change the outcome of the election.

Now we have the craziest stunt yet. The Texas attorney general is filing a lawsuit before the Supreme Court against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

The President of the United States is joining the effort, but no one, including Trump, knows how.

"We will be INTERVENING in the Texas (plus many other states) case. This is the big one. Our Country needs a victory!" Trump tweeted.

Seventeen other states support the Texas A.G. in one form or another, as do the two Republican Senators in a runoff election on Jan. 5. The Republican Senators from Georgia want to disenfranchise the voters of Georgia!

This is surreal! Have Republicans lost their minds?

The Hill reports, "Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) alleged that the new voting processes in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin skewed the presidential election results and that electors should not be allowed to cast their votes for Biden as a result.

"Trump and his attorneys have argued in public that there is evidence of widespread fraud, but they have failed to produce any evidence of it in court."

Obviously this is a publicity stunt and Trump intends to make all the money he can from this caricature of the law.

In addition, Paxton is in trouble with the law and he is fishing for a Trump pardon.

The Republican Senators from Georgia want to disenfranchise the voters of Georgia!

Atlanta, GA — Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler have given their support to a controversial and longshot bid to overturn the election results in Georgia.

As reported by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, a lawsuit filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton asks the U.S. Supreme Court to delay the Dec. 14 deadline for certification in the presidential election for Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The lawsuit rests on conspiracy theories that the election was fraudulent and rigged. There’s no evidence of widespread fraud in the Nov. 3 election. President-elect Joe Biden defeated President Donald Trump and unexpectedly flipped Georgia. Now, Perdue and Loeffler will face Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in the Jan. 5 runoff election, a contest that could determine control of the United States Senate.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/admini...s-he-will-intervene-in-texas-election-lawsuit

Question: Why would anyone want to give control of the United States Senate to a political party that is threatening the very fabric of American Democracy -- free and unfettered elections? The American people have spoken. In 40 some court cases Trump's lawyers have not shown one scintilla of evidence. Trump lost by over seven million votes. Fraud on that scale is virtually impossible.

The shame of it is, Americans who should see all of this don't want to know!

Republicans in the House are challenging the Constitution? That's crazy!

The Republican Senators from Georgia want to disenfranchise the voters of Georgia!

Arizona certified President-elect Joe Biden as the winner of its 11 electoral votes. Trump's team has lost several lawsuits in the state after failing to provide evidence of voter fraud, but continues to dispute the results.

CBS News reports, "The Arizona Republican Party asked its Twitter followers this week if they would be "willing" to die to overturn President Trump's election loss.

"On Monday, an activist associated with the "Stop the Steal" movement, which promotes baseless arguments that Democrats "stole" the election, tweeted, "I am willing to give my life for this fight."

"In response, the official account for the Arizona branch of the GOP quote tweeted the sentiment, adding, "He is. Are you?'"

In general, Republicans have lost their minds.

The shame of it is, Americans who should see all of this don't want to know!

My apologies to members of this forum. Apparently, I have a very low priority on this site, and it is extremely difficult -- if not impossible in some cases -- to respond to other posters. Most of the time I can't even open other threads.

Well stated. !!! It seems that Up is down and vice versa. Crazy times.........and all because one man refuses to comply with the democratic process....and is willing t abuse his power to an extreme. He is willing to incite his followers in any way he can to help him retain power .He has divided the nation..........now he wants t conquer it. Using that big lie and repeating it over and over again.(as well as conspirator theories).............just the way Hitler did in his beginnings. "America" We have a problem"!!!...

( and something that has not made the media radar here, but has in Europe is that he is executing prisoners like the madman.he is.)

106 Republican members of the House, 18 Republican state A.G.'s, and one Republican President with to disenfranchise millions of voters in Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.

I am not making this up.

New York Magazine reports, "On Thursday, 106 GOP representatives signed an amicus brief sent to the Supreme Court in support of a petition by Texas attorney general Ken Paxton. The petition requests that the Supreme Court grant an emergency order that would nullify presidential election results declaring Joe Biden the winner in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin based on a bogus claim about mail-ballot rules.

"That means that more than half of all House Republicans have now endorsed Trump’s attempt to overthrow the election and stay in power for another four years.

"18 Republican attorneys general filed their own amicus brief in support of the Texas lawsuit. Paxton’s suit will almost surely be dismissed from the high court as soon as it gets there, but it’s still an effective tool to raise money."

"Effective tool to raise money?" How so? Because grassroots Republicans are paying Trump to lie to them. So far, they have paid over $200 million into Trump's coffers.

It is a sad commentary on the Republican Party that this satire of American politics is playing out as the Thanksgiving surge of the coronavirus is upon us. The pandemic surge is happening at the same time Republicans, including our President, are attempting to dismantle American democracy.

Yesterday, there were 226,953 new case, and 3,264 Americans were killed by the virus. The raging pandemic has claimed the lives of 296,719 Americans. While all this is happening, our President is concentrating his efforts on disenfranchising American voters.

The shame of it is, Americans who should see all of this don't want to know!

Heard about all this today........It is astonishing to watch what Trump is doing and the support he has to overthrow a legal, election.(and usurp the peoples vote)..........just because he can't stand losing and is addicted to real power. The republican party is morphing into something that is NOT DEMOCRATIC

and an example of how power can corrupt. If Trump succeeds in this endeavor.....he is going to stay in power as long as he can..and "elections" will become meaningless. we are watching a psychopath at "work".... America could be at the crossroads, if one is not careful.

Vladimir Putin, the Russian dictator and a dedicated communist, went to a great deal of trouble to get Trump elected President in 2016.

Today, Trump is doing Putin proud. A FSB (replaced the KGB) Russian agent could not do any better than Trump right now.

Before the rooster crows in the morning many more times, the United States Supreme Court will end the legal equivalent of a coup d'etat attempt by Donald Trump.

It is ironic that Trump, who spent the last four years accusing various political opponents of treason, now receives a long list of entries resulting from a Google search for “Trump commits sedition.” I am not saying here whether or not Trump’s behavior constitutes legally defined sedition. But I am saying that his behavior is now a legitimate subject for profound legal discussion on the subject.

What Trump is attempting today, in real time, before the eyes of a restive and divided nation facing the most deadly health crisis in a century, is, in fact, an effective coup d’etat against the democracy of the United States.

No president, from any party, from the founding of our nation until today, has ever tried to attack and destroy American democracy the way Trump has. No president, no Democrat, no Republican, no liberal, no conservative, no moderate, no leader in the history of our Republic has ever done what Trump has done, and continues to do today.

Trump's court cases have been met with derision for lack of evidence. They have no merit, meaning there was no voter fraud committed by American voters.

But that doesn't mean there is no voter fraud.

The AP reports, "Trump and his allies say their lawsuits aimed at subverting the 2020 election and reversing his loss to Joe Biden would be substantiated, if only judges were allowed to hear the cases.

"There is a central flaw in the argument. Judges have heard the cases and have been among the harshest critics of the legal arguments put forth by Trump’s legal team, often dismissing them with scathing language of repudiation.

"This has been true whether the judge has been appointed by a Democrat or a Republican, including those named by Trump himself.

"The judicial rulings that have rejected Trump’s unfounded claims of widespread voter fraud have underscored not only the futility of the lame-duck president’s brazen attempt to sabotage the people’s will but also the role of the courts in checking his unprecedented efforts to stay in power."

As reported in a recent post, "106 Republican members of the House, 18 Republican state A.G.'s, and one Republican President with to disenfranchise millions of voters in Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania."

Trump and Trump Republicans in the House and in state houses are attempting to disenfranchise millions of American voters without even a whisper of evidence to support their claim.

Trump and Trump Republicans in our government are attempting to commit voter fraud.

    How ironic is that?

No doubt Trump Republicans on this forum will remain silent. Ironically, that says a lot, too.

"SCOTUS will do the same thing they did with the PA case which had far more merit. The judges will tell Trump to shove it (in legalese, of course) and refuse to take the case.

"They would have a very good reason. The Constitution leaves voting procedures up to the states. Texas can't tell four other states how to run elections. Not even the federal government can do that," written yesterday on another thread.

CNN reports, "The Supreme Court rejected a bid from Texas' attorney general -- supported by President Donald Trump -- to block the ballots of millions of voters in battleground states that went in favor of President-elect Joe Biden.

"The court's move to dismiss the challenge is the strongest indication yet that Trump has no chance of overturning election results in court that even the justices whom he placed there have no interest in allowing his desperate legal bids to continue.

"The lawsuit, brought by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a staunch Trump ally, sought to sue Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Wisconsin -- which all went for Biden -- and invalidate their election results. And this week, with his options narrowing, Trump, accompanied by the support of several Republican attorneys general and GOP lawmakers, cranked up pressure to have the Supreme Court weigh in."

Trump will continue on with his seditious rhetoric probably until he leaves office. Why? The losers are paying him to lie to them, and his patron, Vladimir Putin, is proud of his work in dividing America.

democracy is the winner in all this . As is the country and constitution. Presidents come and go (as they should in this system) but we must preserve the core and foundation in this wonderful experiment.( which has many flaws......but is a work in progress) It weakens the nation to put too much favor on one man......particularly one like this .

Trump still has some days to come up with other tactics/ shenanigans to put a dent in the democracy. His actions are beyond losing..........an election.

The tragedy is that this electoral system has been tainted by Thump to the point , that it is no longer an example to the world that is still striving for an effective system of governing. We cannot claim to be an example of ethical standards eitehr. The Republican party has sold out to one man...and this empowers him to behave the way he does........as if he has no boundaries.

Yes , that is essence of what is happening. It is bigger than just over throwing the election results. The casualty is the Republican party.

The Supreme Court with the three justices appointed by Trump have now rejected Trump twice.

The Times reports, "The order, coupled with another one on Tuesday turning away a similar request from Pennsylvania Republicans, signaled that a conservative court with three justices appointed by Mr. Trump refused to be drawn into the extraordinary effort by the president and many prominent members of his party to deny his Democratic opponent, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., his victory."

Trump will continue on with his seditious rhetoric probably until he leaves office. Why? The losers are paying him to lie to them, and his patron, Vladimir Putin, is proud of his work in dividing America.

This is what happens when our President refuses to accept the will of the American people.

This is what happens when our President refuses to accept the certification of election results by all 50 states and D.C.

This is what happens when our President refuses to accept the conclusions of his own DOJ regarding voter fraud, meaning lack of same.

This is what happens when our President refuses to accept the ruling of the Supreme Court

This what happens when our President refuses to accept the results of the Electoral College as mandated by our Constitution.

This is what happens when our President's actions are in line with the Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin, who assisted Trump in his election victory in 2016.

A growing crowd waving American flags and wearing “Make America Great Again" hats gathered Saturday morning in Freedom Plaza in support of President Donald Trump and his unfounded allegations of voter fraud in the presidential election.

The rally was organized by Women for America First, a conservative group that organized last month's “Stop the Steal” rally, which drew tens of thousands of people.

As many as 15,000 people were expected to attend Saturday's demonstration, according to the group's permit. Trump tweeted Saturday morning that he was unaware of the event, "but I’ll be seeing them!"

Crowds gathered to listen to speakers before marching to the Supreme Court, which denied an effort Friday to overturn election results in battleground states and prevent them from casting their Electoral College votes for President-elect Joe Biden on Monday.

CNN writes, "Trump's effort to unravel democracy hit a dead end at the Supreme Court Friday night, capping five weeks in which he dragged the country along on his narcissistic quest to stay in power after President-elect Joe Biden overwhelmingly won the election.

"In the end, the guardrails of democracy stayed in place. Trump lost -- for the second time at the Supreme Court this week. But instead of helping the effort to curb a deadly pandemic that has claimed nearly 300,000 American lives by easing the transition for his successor, he is already scheming about his next political moves. Before the high court rejected his bid Friday, his campaign announced a cable ad buy to further his fraudulent claims about the election, and he clearly intends to try and meddle in Congress' counting of the Electoral College results in January.

"More broadly, the damage he has done to Americans' faith and trust in democratic institutions will last long after he packs his bags and ends what will go down as one of the worst presidencies in history."

Why does Trump have so much support? He garnered 74 million votes in a losing effort for a second term. He has raised over $200 million dollars by lying about the election to his own constituents.

We will never know. His supporters on this forum remain absolutely silent concernbing what Trump is actually doing and saying. They rarely discuss Trump. They talk more about the Bidens and Harris than they do Trump.

Put a different way, Trump's own supporters have no idea why they support him.

I dearly would love to have someone try to prove me wrong about that.

Trump tweeted Sunday morning that he would veto the National Defense Authorization Act, a $741 billion defense package.

Trump denounced the legislation for not including language that would strip social media companies from the protections they enjoy under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. Trump also denounced provisions in the bill that would remove the names of Confederate leaders from 10 military installations.

    Trump is a loser!

Unless you live on Mars, you know that the Electoral College voted today. Guess what, Trump lost. Some are wondering if the President is going to continue his assault on our Constitution.

So far the loser has been unable to accept reality. It is what losers do.

In addition to officially losing the election Trump also lost hia attorney general. Barr could not take Trump's stupidity anymore. He quit today.

Trump revealed Barr's resignation minutes after California pushed Biden over the 270 threshold. Only a loser like Trump could lose a Presidential election and his attorney general within minutes of each other.

"Some are wondering if the President is going to continue his assault on our Constitution."

I anticipate that he will do just that. He cares more about holding on to power than democracy , the Constitution or the voice of the people.

He has truly stress tested the democracy of this fine nation.......
