More jobs for Americans? Try less jobs for Americans and cheaper labor for corporations. Why spend good money training Americans for high tech jobs when we can get full paying students from China and India in our colleges and the Silicon Valley babies can hire them at a lot less for the tech jobs. At present only 1 in 4 Americans are being hired by big tech. How would you like to be a graduate and find out your diploma can't even compete with Jose the landscaper or Maria the barmaid or housekeeper?

Joe talks about those clean energy jobs. All the jobs in the fossil fuel energy fields will disappear. I had 50 solar panels installed on my house. Do you know how long it took for 6 Mexicans, only one spoke English, to install them? Less than one day. Do you believe your children will be better off sitting in overcrowded classrooms? Will your family be better off with long waits for medical care? Yep! Were all going to be better off now. Don't think so.

We need them. True. They do jobs others won't and if they were legal the employers have to treat them the same as anyone else. If you're worried about them working too cheap maybe you better think about turning the clocks back and bring back unions.

We need them because without immigrants the US population would decline. Economists tell us that a capitalist economy fails when that happens. Japan, because of it's lack of immigration is in so much trouble with it's aging population that they are making incentives to have children. Boomers are now dying off and the US is in the same boat. With wealth being more and more concetrated in the hands of the few who is going to start having big families again? Who could afford to?

He said we need to create a path for them to become legal. They are already here, if you could get rid of them at the snap if your fingers do you not think T**** would have done so? Those that already here have a track record. If it's clean start the process. For migrant workers make a system of guest workers monitored by brokers. If a broker fails then take the broker's license, if an employer hires non brokered temps not just fines jail time.

They are illegal aliens . They showed no respect for our sovereignty and "our rule of law". We have laws that allow a peaceful path to entry into our country. Do you think you can just walk across the border and set up a life style without any consequence? No, they will put you in jail and when they feel like it they will deport you. We have a 6.7% unemployment rate now. No illegal should be allowed to have a job over an American.

Unions? Now there's a real communist socialist idea. I'm originally from Detroit and I've seen first hand the destruction unions do in the long run. My sister, a long time card carrying union member, might beg to differ with you after she found out that the city was bankrupt and her pension was drastically reduced. She's over 70 and working in a bowling ally trying to eke out a living. Ask all those union workers if it was worth it to go on strike as the companies they worked for moved overseas. The whole mid-west was union towns and then all those jobs disappeared and that whole section of the country became known as "the rust belt". Places like New Jersey and California and New York that have some of the highest welfare benefits are losing companies and population in droves. This is another reason that they favor illegal immigration because without population growth they lose seats and power when the census determines reapportionment in Congress.

I'm sure your a passionate, caring person and have been spoon fed the pablum of the utopians and we should all take care of those who have less. It's a nobel undertaking but you cannot destroy the successful side of society in the undertaking. I was raised to improve myself and strive for a better life for myself and family. I can't remember one person in my family that said " I think I'll go out and lower my standard of living so me and my family can feel on par with those who have less".
