"Trump to leave office with historically bad economic record"
"This sounds jarring since many Americans believe the economic fable Trump has repeated relentlessly throughout his tenure. But placing its financial results next to those of its predecessors paints a deeply unflattering picture."

"Alone among the 13 presidents since World War II, Trump will leave the White House with fewer Americans employed than when he started. He will have overseen weaker growth in economic output than any of the previous 12 presidents."

"To be sure, the deadliest public health pandemic in a century devastated economic activity during this last year of the president’s tenure. But responding to an unexpected disaster – from hurricanes and terrorist attacks to civil unrest and financial crises – is a big part of the job. And Trump’s failed response to the coronavirus has exacerbated and prolonged the damage to jobs and production."

Trump's current historical ranking right now stands in the low forties, and unlike most President's, especially with his antics of late, those numbers aren't likely to rise when he leaves office

So where do you think Trump will land in the historians ranking of Presidents?

The single worst politician ever. An awful human being, a terrible leader, and a disgrace to our countries legacy.

Uneducated people think government can stop a virus. Without the democrat governors ruining their own state economies it wouldn’t be near as bad.

Instead of 50 governors running helter skelter with 50 opinions on what to do, things would have been much more successful if those 50 would have had a leader who could organize everyone to be on the same page.

Ah, after claiming Trump is a dictator now the left claims he should have acted like one. Unfortunately for the TDS sufferers Trump actually acted constitutionally. Ever hear of the CDC?

US debt grew to record numbers under Trump. You would think he was a democrat the way he spends.

No one thought government can stop a virus, however, thru proper leadership, the virus can be contained and its spread limited until a vaccine is found, unfortunately Trump took the opposite approach. And Governors didn't ruin State economy, Covid did, did you think people were going to flock to restaurants and bars knowing that an unchecked virus with no vaccine that kills people was openly spreading thru social contact

But this is not the Covid platform, the question was Trump's place in historical rankings

And it was a GOP Congress that approved that spending

But the topic isn't the debt, the question was Trump's place in historical rankings

Like the 14 days to flatten the curve, what, 6 months ago. How about CA that has instituted some of the most severe limitations yet still has a second spike? Don’t let facts get in the way of political ideology.

Intelligent people know the economy was torpedoed by COVID and would not try to blame Trump.

The proper leadership would have been more shutdowns, more lockdowns, more restrictions on domestic and foreign travel. These aspects would have saved more lives but would have also done even more damage economically speaking. There is simply no way to do one without doing the other but by all means don't let lil' old reality stand in the way of blaming Pres Trump for the damage COVID did. I mean after all every country that didn't have Trump has its President did just fine economically speaking - right? /eyeroll

What exactly does being on the same page mean to you? Be specific.

Thinking like that is 100% wrong. Each State is different, each county is different. The large democrat run cities are in shambles. Trump has nothing to do with their demise. Talk to their mayor's and governors.

They are not "in shambles"! They are doing very well and are great places to live. Stop listening to far right media. Good lord people, you ALL are smarter than this!

    Other countries have.

Isn't the USA strong enough ?

Unity from the top, quarantine as needed, social distancing and mask wearing.

The USA would have saved Trillions and 315,000 American's Lives

Just about every country has had a second wave. You consider that a success? Fascinating.
