LoL, just about everybody I know that got the Covid were masked. It was a requirement for their job. Masks do not work because people are using them incorrectly.

I have been slamming Vitamin D every day since March. I also began walking 5 miles a day and dropped my weight from 208 lbs down to 192 (I am targeting 180 by March, the perfect weight for my height. I know those two things alone will protect me far more from Covid than a mask. (Note: 220 is considered obese for my height).

So any fat person chicken-littling about the dangers of Covid should be completely dismissed. If they really believed the crap they were spewing, they would be working feverishly on their weight. I am only MILDLY concerned about the virus yet I took two significant steps to improve my results when I get the virus (and I am positive I will get it at some point).

I’m sorry. I don’t feel like trying to explain historical or legal precedent to you.

Your other theory is interesting but not really supported by any study I have seen. Do you have a link? I agree that sometimes immune isolation can increase the severity of some illnesses but I have not seen one specifically on COVID — I would still prefer not to catch it just from the long term side effects.

What do masks prevent? Why are we having an increase in cases, 9 months after virtually everyone started wearing a mask?

Some excellent points - it's human nature to only want easy solutions, and masks are much easier than getting healthier. But the bolded bit doesn't follow - all the studies suggest masks do help to a degree if used correctly, so the answer is surely better education, not no masks. But good on you for the efforts you've made. I know how much work that is (I did something similar last year after getting on the scales for the first time in years and being horrified!)

Virtually everyone wears a mask? Didn't you see any of Trump's rallies?

    BS.
Whether you introduce 1 unit of virus into your body or 10 units, it makes no difference as your body won’t know that something is wrong until after the virus starts killing your cells. The first, homegrown so to speak, generation of the virus will be present in your body long before it finds out about the unwanted guests.

There are many reasons. Not distancing, getting together in close areas, staying inside with others etc.
I have said it before masks help reduce spreading help reduce catching the virus but never said it was 100%. Masks are just one deterant.

It can make a difference depending on the disease. From the British Medical Journal:

    https://www.bmj.com/content/371/bmj.m4763
"A third reason may relate to the number of infectious viral particles to which people are exposed at the point of infection (the “inoculum”). Although human challenge trials for SARS-CoV-2 are in early stages of development, studies of influenza A virus in humans have shown that initial exposure to a lower inoculum results in fewer and shorter symptoms as well as lower likelihood of viral shedding"

    Masks were never a panacea.

Masks + social distancing + good hygiene will slow the spread and soften the viral load. The more viral load, the worse the disesase.

Some 21 year olds went to a beer spitting COVID party in April. One of them died a horrible death.

    Viral Load.

If someone can sneeze in their hands, or wipe their nose and serve you food without having a significant risk of infecting you then why does everyone need to wear a mask again?

We're almost a year in. If you don't know the easily-knowable answer to that, nobody should take you seriously on this topic.

Ill informed people do not make good decisions.

Mask mandates result in people reusing their old masks, which gives people a false sense of security, which results in disregard for social distancing and hygiene. There is absolutely no evidence that could be observed in real world that masks work under real life scenarios.

Is that an indisputable fact about the WuFlu?

Well, I’m not advocating for people exchanging their saliva. When someone does something like described above, you can make a safe bet that they won’t make it for too long before dying from any other form of stupidity - like swimming in shark infested waters after dusk.

What is I’ll-informed? I’m just making an observation: in March everyone freaked out over 4,000 deaths and states started to mandate masks. Now, 9 months and 300,000 deaths later:
    Did masks help?
    Did anything help?

What do you mean is that a fact?

The longer you are in the cold, the worse the frostbite.
The more foods you eat that are high in cholesterol, the higher your cholesterol will be.
The worse the accident, the worse the damage.
The more you drink, the more you damage your liver.

YES - if you get a huge viral load, you get sicker.

Again, quit spouting opinions as if you are an expert. You're still stuck in late March, knowledge wise.

The procedure caused the heart attack. NOT covid 19.

Maybe he was taking the procedure as a safety precaution but did not really need it. We don't know what the procedure was.

His heart attack and death can be blamed on the procedure but not covid 19. If you all want to imply that covid 19 somehow affected his heart to where it was weak and thus helped cause the heart attack that's fine but I have seen no evidence to support covid 19 attacks the heart or causes heart attacks.

Yes he had covid which resulted in the procedure but only the procedure caused the heart attack.

You all used Letlows death to start a political thread to support your agenda that covid is bad.

    OMG are you serious?

He would not have needed the procedure if he didn't have COVID. This is pretty simple stuff.

"Err... hey.... can I check into the ICU for a heart-attack causing procedure I don't need for a disease I don't have?"

Please answer the question. Why is it so important that this not be a bad disease? How do you personally gain from being right about this, when you are so very, very clearly wrong?

Trump was taking Hydroxycloroquine before he had covid 19 according to his Twitter if I remember right.

He was taking extra precautions he did not need at the time. People take flu medicine when they don't need it to help fight a cold.

A procedure can mean several things. We need more details before blaming covid 19.

You all saw a Republican died and like the media used his death to reinforce the covid bad agenda instead of just mourning his death.

I knew this thread was coming the moment I heard he died and I knew a lefty would post it and I also knew a bunch of other lefties would chime in to say how bad covid 19 is. You all are so predictable.

H1N1 was a bad disease. Covid 19 is just as bad. If you all can be chill for H1N1 while Obama was president you can be chill for this one.

Trump gave us a great economy and the left used pandemic fear mongering to destroy it.

WTF? If it smells, it's bad. If it hurts, it's bad. If it kills you, it's bad. What on earth are you talking about?

Proof I was chill during H1N1?

You have literally zero idea how I treat other infectious diseases.

You seem to think I'm a democrat. I'm not, but it's interesting you associate trusting scientists with being a democrat. Very telling.
