They they provide a communication platform but then claim legal protection as an open platform via 230 but then act as a publisher by censoring content. They are most certainly NOT an open platform and users of their platform who are censored or completely removed should have legal recourse. That is about as anti American as you can get. They are acting exactly as the Chinese Communist Party acts. Not surprising because they provide surveillance software for Red China to spy on their individual citizens and persecute the Uighurs.
The similarities will only grow. I guarantee that some on this site who have expressed open hatred against the BOM, will approve, even celebrate when the news tells them that "domestic terrorists" were killed at this or that location or that another cell has been broken up and its members arrested. It will be exciting times to virtue signal and rat out the enemy within. When a critical mass is reached, they'll begin to realize that revolutions always remain HUNGRY. There always has to be an "other" to find and destroy. It stops being as much fun when it starts being them or those they love.
I'm all for free speech, but I am not an advocate of government forcing corporations to do stuff like hosting porn & propaganda outlets. The Chinese would love it if they could utilize Amazon to spread their propaganda in US, which they would do if you could have your way.
I assume that you are not a citizen of the US (but I could be wrong) but you make a comment that all Trump voters have below median IQ’s? I am a Trump voter and have a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and my name is on 17 patents.
I'm not insane, Trump is to blame! That's what my voices said to me. They told me hound, and beat him down, so I can get a legacy, of virtue and humanity, that way you all can now be free, if you will learn to bow to me - Jeannette
Do you live in a vacuum. Facebook, Google, Apple etc. bow down and allow censorship of their citizens in the countries they operate in. Child labor, discrimination, political activism, graft, selling of technology are all hallmarks of these companies and there business dealings with these criminal regimes. Americans that wish to continue to support these outlaw practices are just as guilty. It's all about the Benjamin's right.
Yep a tyrannical left wind regime doing what they always do. First cut off communication between your detractors. Next hunt them down and punish them which is what Democrat Party leaders have been saying they plan to do. Heil Biden!
I'm sure they know they exist if that what you mean. Accessing private and encrypted sites, which may not even have a DNS and be hidden behind an IPort would require a lot more work than having the entire public there reading the public sites like twitter and then report it to Twitter -> FBI when it comes up. Its also easier than trying to get a warrant and monitor people's phones.
This guy knows all about how totalitarianism works. Russia tried to poison him. https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost...xei-navalny-blasts-twitter-for-trump-ban/amp/
IMO, the fbi is capable of cracking those sites. But not many will go to the underground, just the hardcore, and they are likely there already.
They can crack the site after the incident more often than before the incident considering the time to get a warrant and break into these sites. You are just spinning at this point. Its not a matter of 'if', as much as it is about 'when' and the 'when' is very important when there is a threat. Also, thousands of people are reading the public feeds and can report the threat per a few FBI agents who could look all day and never run across one.
No, YOU are copying them. You want the government to dictate how corporations are ran. Enough with all this repetition.
It seems large segments of US society love censorship, as long as it's their neighbor who is being censored.
I have been censored. I was a member of another discussion board where the mods were quick to delete posts which were considered off-topic. Did it offend me to a point where I would cry about being denied "freedom of speech"? Of course not. I understood it was a board owned by someone, and that someone had the right to define and enforce the rules. Same goes for FB, Twitter and every other discussion board, including this one.
I used to think that only the Chinese Communist Party could pull off silencing 75 million people. Now we see that it can be done in the US as well. “Of course, Twitter is a private company,” Navalny continued “But we have seen many examples in Russian and China of such private companies becoming the state’s best friends and the enablers when it comes to censorship.” Alexei Navalny
You talk a lot for a person who has been silenced. But then again, no one has been silenced. We just have people who cry and whine about the fact that they can't use someone else's platform to spread propaganda. Quit playing the victim, and create your own platform, or use public platforms like people did before social media. They have been the state's best friend for the past 4 years. Do you have any idea how many Tweets Trump has posted using their platform? Its in tens of thousands. The government didn't muzzle him, the private companies did, so your never ending China comparisons are fairly ignorant.
Quite a few of us on all sides of the aisle donate from time to time to keep this forum going. Maybe we should put in a new rule on here that "if you don't pay you cant play".
