The "Trump must go" drumbeat increases in volume / in 9 days, Biden/Harris will be inaugurated

Today is Monday, January 11th, 2021.

From Sunday to Monday, the voices saying that Donald Trump must go got louder and louder, among them former NJ Governor Chris Christie, who is now calling for Trump to be impeached. Christie was one of Trump's staunchest allies. This is a real thing.

Also, the financial cost of murderous sedition is starting to make itself be known: a number of corporations have stopped backing all Republicans who supported the failed sedition attempt, the 3 largest of them (up to 141) being:

Blue Cross/Blue Shield
Mariott
Commerce Bank

Also, the Credit Card processing company, Stripe Inc., has dropped the Trump campaign, which means that right now, the campaign cannot collect money for anything. This is a real thing.

Also, every vendor has now dropped the social media platform PARLER. This is a real thing.

Also, the PGA of America is stripping Trump and the Trump Bedminster Resort of the 2022 PGA tournament. This is a real thing.

Also, the lie that the murderous seditious *******s who attacked the Capitol Building last Wednesday were somehow "antifa" is even being debunked by, of all people, Jeannie Pirro (FOX), who was, in between getting sloshed on wine all the time, a very staunch Trump ally. This is a real thing.

Soon, we will be hearing many a tear-filled report of MAGA insurrectionists who, upon returning home, lost their jobs for what they did. Insurrectionists can run, but they cannot hide.

There are credible reports coming in that the same type of insurrectionists are planning to engage once again in armed terror on January 17th and January 20th, 2021. On January 17th, 2021, armed protests are planned for in every state Capitol and in DC. This information is easy to come by: even the insurrectionists are openly advertising it. Law enforcement is very likely to be prepared this time around. This is a real thing.

The Democrats in the HOR are planning to first introduce and vote on a resolution to implore soon-to-be ex-Vice-President Pence to invoke the 25th amendment. Pence is playing very coy about this and I think he has a right to hold this mental bile over Trump's head for the next days.

And then, the HOR is going to discuss the article of impeachment against Trump. This is a real thing.

To show defiance, Trump is planning to visit the small city of Alamo (pop: circa 20,000), in Hidalgo County, Texas during his last week in office in order to brag about the wall that Mexico never paid for and was never completed (actually, barely begun), using the 1836 battle at the Alamo in order to make the point that he held on to the end, which is in and of itself hilarious but oh well, it's Trump. In his utter stupidity, Trump has picked the wrong Alamo. The Alamo where the battle took place was at "Fort Alamo" at the Spanish mission in San Antonio (which is in Bexar County, not Hidalgo County) and not in the actual city of Alamo. This is a real thing, but it's so ****ing crazy and unhinged, one could really think that it's a prank.

Oh well, intelligence is something we have never accused Trump of having, so this is no big surprise. I mean, who else sends a dottering, black ink sweating lawyer who got caught jerking off in his pants in front of a minor to stand in front of a porn store in order to contest the results of an election, other than that very stabile genius Donald Trump?

BTW, the spanish word "Alamo" simply means cottonwood and there are many places in Texas with this name.

In 9 days from today, on January 20th, 2021, Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. and Kamala Devi Harris will be sworn-in as our Republic's 46th President and 49th Vice-President, respectively. This is a real thing.

The House met in pro-forma session this morning and H-RES-21 was officially introduced, demanding that VP Mike Pence invoke the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution and remove Trump from power. The Resolution explicitly gives Pence 24 hours to respond. The House GOP may or may not have success in slowing this Resolution down but since Pence has eyes and ears and can read and hear the resolution, whether or not the House GOP plays the "drag this thing out" game is nothing more than kabuki theater.

If Pence does not respond one way or the other within the 24 hours, then the Article of Impeachment will be officially put on the floor tomorrow morning at the same time (presumably).

Apparently, the HOR has its own form of operation Warp Speed, because the impeachment is going to be scheduled for a full house vote on Wednesday, two days from today. I suspect that the GOP will want to try to delay this as well. Wait and see.

But it is now official: one certain Donald J. Trump is going to do down in history as the only President in history to have been impeached twice during his time in office.

I heard that the Republican leadership is allowing their members vote their consciences on impeachment. In other words vote your own political interests. Who ever heard of a Republican having a conscience? Republicans see a conscience as an impedance to effective Republican rule.

 

What this means is that Trump cannot expect any discipline among the ranks, and and Mitch is providing sufficient flexibility that the count on his side will be unpredictable and in flux depending on what how these members see the both the political winds, and how they as jurors see Trump's behavior up to the vote as either adding to the violence, utterly indifferent to the violence or trying to mitigate it. It really gives Trump a motive to behave better, and show a hint of fake 'remorse' ( sociopaths can on occasion mimic moral behavior) through his efforts to handle this responsibly from now to the Senate vote. Its a smart move consistent with the national interest by McConnell and it can far less harm on the GOP chances later on, than micromanaging his caucus.
