I hope not. Every sovereign nation needs to have a 'firewall' for entry within its borders. Travel between the U. S. and Great Britain has always been very easy, and it would be so today if it weren't for the damned virus. After the damned virus has been dealt with, we can easily travel between our two nations again, but it is very beneficial to have some elementary controls over who comes, how long they stay, and what they're doing. After all, we are foreigners in their country, and they in ours....

I believe most would be fine with it. We have had a more liberal set of rules with the UK than we do most nations (well except maybe Canada) anyway.

No it's nothing personal. I have family who are Brits, but I'm just not interested in opening the borders wide open to another country unless we have a good reason. And frankly, I doubt Brits would really want their country opened up to 330 million Americans to come crash on your couch. It would hurt you more than it would us.

I would make one observation. And that is the commonwealth citizenship question. This really becomes a welcome mat to the US be LOTS of other countries.

I'd take Florida trash with otherwise travel bans over EU trash any day.

Just saying, EU, gotta lotta Communist and Socialists who come to this country because it's better than theirs, and Americans speak English and don't seem to go in for all that Socialist nonsense or argue the merits of Communism to me on the job site or in my home or convert my friends.
So I'd take them over EU migrants anyday.

    330 million?
That's 130 million less than UK had to endure with the EU, so that shouldn't be a problem.

The Uk has nothing to offer, besides fish and chips, warm beer and the royals. Why would anybody go there.
They have all those immigrants from the 3rd world Commonwealth, who would flood into the US.
Better confine them to their island.

Speaking as Florida trash, be careful what you wish for!

If you are just looking for some sort of trade to replace the EU, Boris and Trump were trying to hammer out some sort of Free Trade deal, but under a Harris-but-also-Biden Administration, I suspect that's off the table. The incoming administration opposes Brexit and probably won't want to make things easier for the UK for peeing in the EU punchbowl.

Nah, I'm looking for a big win.

Also, the EU and China pushed ahead isolating itself from US and Japan and UK, making a big win for China and a big loss for the EU.
    So to distance from that.

Biden's now set to be harder on Brussels than on London and there are many in Washington who want a UK US trade deal and Biden won't just turn on that.

Biden's lines of hating on Brexit sorta ended when he got elected in 2020, according to all Google searches.

I see no reason to open our borders between the USA and Britain.

I seem to remember that, during the Coronavirus outbreak, travel to and from Europe was banned.

Also, free travel, no questions asked, might lead the USA (CIA?) to kidnap certain people from Britain and transport them to America for trial, like that guy who hacked NASA or Julian Assange.
