Congress is mandating this? Or is it a private company?

If it is congress that is truly shocking!

If it is a private company then you don’t understand the 1st Amendment

What lies? For 4 years the left said the election was stolen from Clinton. There were congressional hearings. Clinton goes on TV and radio and repeatedly told the world the election was stolen. But now it's different, right?

Meh, not frequently, you are exaggerating. She harped on it, but it wasn't a lie that was repeated by her, over and over and over and over again like Trump did, nor did she have rallies once every week for four years asserting that 'the only way republicans can win is if they rig the election' nor did she fan the flames of her flock so great that they committed insurrection mayhem and murder.

Trump, on the other hand, is by an order of many magnitude, well, let's just say there is no way in hell you can compare Hillary to Donald when it comes to telling their flock the opposition stole the election. In Trump's base, it was a mantra. Not so with Hillary fans, who faded quickly and moved on.

But, there the right is, clinging to anything they can do a 'whatabout' on

Give me a break. Your guy is a malignant narcissist who is a clear and present danger to the United States and the planet.

Like I said, Trump is the heroin, and now come the withdrawals. :)

BTW, free speech in no way permits false accusations. If one wishes to create fictional scenarios, they are free to do that, but not as a news outlet, a news outlet does have legal requirements. This simplistic notion that free speech means one can say anything without repercussions is absolutely uninformed.

For 4 years false claims have been made by the news media about Trump. Guess what. No repercussions.

I almost missed your sarcasm, dependent on the single word, "you," rather than, "they." For any who feel that this is some attack on free speech--
You could have just linked to the article:
A talk radio company that employs some of the nation’s most popular conservative radio hosts has issued a memo barring talent from spreading conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election.

“We need to help induce national calm NOW,” wrote an executive with Cumulus Media in a Wednesday directive, the same day as the deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol by a pro-Trump mob, according to The Washington Post.

Brian Philips, the company’s executive vice president, went on to say Cumulus and its program syndication branch, Westwood One, “will not tolerate any suggestion that the election has not ended. The election has been resolved and there are no alternate acceptable ‘paths’. ”

I would editorialize to add, this is a legitimate fact, that, "the election has been resolved and there are no alternate, acceptable 'paths'," & a valid point of view for the company to expect its on-air talent to comply with, especially since there is no legally acceptable recourse that is being advocated to remedy these unsubstantiated stories. The company is putting forth a code of conduct, for those who will represent the company's image, on-air. It is not significantly different from barring foul language, which would also reflect poorly on the company & make them liable for fines from the FCC. Or from its forbidding hate-speech against any group, which could, potentially, inspire violent acts.

What this is, is not some corporate-sponsored brainwashing propaganda campaign, or censorship conspiracy to hide the truth, it is an example of corporate responsibility, & it is commendable.

Money, it's all about the money.
But, what you refer to media is mostly 24/7 reality tv.

Did Hillary Clinton call governors demanding that they alter the result? Did she incite violence against the Capitol?

I think we are going to get a rise in mass shootings. Driving millions of heavily armed conservatives to far right corners of the internet will produce a ton of paranoid, suicidal, conspiracy nuts who will believe that giant corporations and the swamp cornered them and drove them underground.

    What could go wrong?

For example. The ongoing collusion narrative for 4 years and the edited Charlottesville comments come to mind. Then the various lies about Covid such as ignoring the early intel warnings whereas Trump establish a task force, implemented travel bans, fast track testing kits, before WHO declaired a pandemic.

The attempt to keep Trump President is not dependent at all on whether Trump actually won. That's nothing but a smokescreen. Trumpers don't believe in Democracy. If people don't vote with them it's because they're stupid; "You don't ask your cattle how they like to be herded, your pigs don't tell you when they're best slaughtered" We're literally beasts in the field to them.

Look, anybody who honestly thinks that a Pizza Parlor built on a concrete slab has a giant conspiracy to eat children going on in its nonexistent basement isn't really worth considered and reasonable argument

Nuts are gonna nut, what can you do?

That was during the investigation. Once the report was made public, unprecedently by the AG rather than the SP, no one lied about its findings (except Trump), which include 10 counts of obstrution.
Edited? Nothing was edited. Trump's words are there for anyone to hear. Do you not see the Trump pattern? Trump always carefully places statements to distract from his dog whistles. "Hang Mike Pence. Peacefully."

Nobody is lying about Trump. He's been in our faces for 4 years. Nobody needs a biased opinion to know what they see and hear.
Uh...what? Did you get that from the Woodward Tapes?
