    So the games begin..

Democrats have turned impeachment into a joke. Congratulations for impeaching trump twice, quite a milestone

I look forward to the next milestone in the impeachment games... the beauty of the precedent that the dems have set is that they have lowered the threshold to loose interpretations of political speeches and phone calls with world leaders.

it will be a historical event like no other in history. Biden will be impeached for his involvement in hiding his son’s corrupt behaviour, obstructing justice

immediately after, kamala will be impeached for inciting violence given all her speeches in support of rioters.

Kevin mccarthy will be president by 2022, just after rep re-take control of the house

i’m actually excited given that there is no question that there will be payback and this time the whole ticket will be removed, going one better.

Lol whatever floats your boat, dude.
Meanwhile, you might want to reflect on why your great orange hope went down in flames and discredited his brand and left his peeps drowning in a sewer of lies.

It looks like you're going to NOT heade my advice about self-radicalisation.

The problem is that mike could quite possibly be correct. This latest impeachment was the fastest impeachment in history and had no investigative hearings on it. It was done in the heat of the moment that left absolutely no time to let cooler heads prevail. It was based on pure feelings. No actual facts. If it doesn't happen then I will be surprised. And I haven't been surprised by anything political in the last 20 years.

So true. We wondered how Muslim extremists could convince themselves that it would be righteous to fly planes into the twin towers.

The same self-radicalization process is happening currently in front of our own eyes in our own country. Who would have thought...

Isn't it more than a little hypocritical to call out the abuse of the impeachment process for political purposes against those you support but them immediately celebrate the idea of it being used in exactly the same way against those you oppose?

Is the limit of your ambitions only to be just as bad as the Democrats? Why not aim to be the better person? If nobody takes that difficult step, you'll all be dragged (further) down together.

Understanding a factual review of what has transpired will have no effect on you, I feel compelled to revisit it anyway.

Impeachment #1. There's a (edited) transcript. We know what was said. The Orange Insurrectionist tried to extort a foreign leader in to becoming involved in the coming election on Don's behalf. Constituting both a violation of law and an abuse of power.

Impeachment #2. Having failed in their effort to get Trump sock puppet M. Pence to fulfill his duty, the House felt the need to respond to the imminent danger to the country Trump poses by removing him from office by the only means available to it.

So.........no joke and no lowering of the bar. The latter being an absurd rhetorical tool employed by Repubs to cover for their duplicity in enabling Trump to violate virtually every tenet of his responsibilities as POTUS.

I was listening to the Democrats' witch trial yesterday as background noise at work. No committee meetings or hearings. Just two hours of screeching shambolic political screeds of "He's guilty! We must burn him today!", followed by a partisan majority vote. Told the boss that to really emphasize the mockery and destruction Democrats are making of our democracy, due process and constitution, they might as well impeach Trump every single day for the next seven days. No way the Senate will have 67 votes to convict when Nance sends the article over to the Senate in April or May.

Perhaps Biden will be impeached daily starting in 2023 when Republicans take back control of the House, just for funsies. He could be the first president to be impeached hundreds of times, with hundreds on non-convictions in the Senate, for the sole purpose of political showmanship.

We certainly can't expect Congress to work on helpful legislation for the people any more, much less do anything to unify and "heal the nation".

I agree with the bold bit.

The reality is, at least for the time being Republicans are going to be moving away from Trumpism. Look at the backlash already, and the cost to Trump and the cost to his family and the cost to Republicans that have supported him. Aside from a few renegades the Republican Party are going to try and rebuild itself on Conservative values. Because at the end of the day they need to keep their jobs and pay the bills. If it was not for Trump shoehorning a Republican could well have become President in 2016 - and incumbents usually win their second term. Aside from a few renegades, radicals and nutters most Republicans are aware of this and I bet they are furious. The bet failed.

Radicalisation is a departure from reality. If individuals are pushing for a confrontation and war, I wonder what happens to all that anger and hate when reality keeps moves in a different direction? The endpoint of radicalisation is illness, prison or death.

Imagine how much better we all would have been off if John Kasich had won the nomination in 2016. He'd probably be president elect now. Of course, Dems would have found issues with him too, but at least he is a decent person. Trump just is not.

Dems are trying to hold Don accountable for his mockery and destruction of our democracy. Your Orwellian attempt to claim up is down is noted.

Yes! For some reason decent guys get overshadowed in the debates. Trump was like a football player in a China shop, chewed straight through them.

If you don't mind I'm going to put this link here, for those readers who are less familiar.

Until Kamala Harris is "guilty" and impeached for committing the crime of "inciting an insurrection and being a danger to the United States" after expressing the same public political support for peaceful protests as Trump did.

If Trump "lies" so then Kamala (and other elected Democrats) lie just the same. Equity and justice in punishment is called for if this country is going to travel a heinous road of punishing political speech without any hearings or due process.

"They’re not gonna stop […] this is a movement I’m telling you, they’re not gonna stop. And everyone beware, because they’re not gonna stop, they’re not gonna stop before election day in November, and they’re not gonna stop after election day […] and everyone should take note of that on both levels, that they’re not gonna let up, and they should not, and we should not." - Kamala Harris

    It is Orwellian, no doubt.

Pelosi should have followed the witch trial by leading D House members outside to perform for two more Democrat Party favorite ritualistic ceremonies.

Well one side wants impeachment, the other wants to hang Mike Pence?

    So which one is worse?

    Correct? :roflol:

    How?

    1) The GOP House Minority won't be able to impeach anybody.
    2) Even if they could, they couldn't get 17 Dem.Votes in the Senate.

So? What are you even talking about when you say that the OP "could quite possibly be correct"?

Yes, there were several decent GOP candidates then, although some of them have lost their decency since 2015.

Kasich was my favorite too. I think he would have been a great President, able to reach accross the divide and work for a more united country.

Thanks for the link, although it is behind a paywall. However, I've heard him talk before about voting for Biden. How could he not, given the alternative?

Impeachment is nothing more than overriding will of the people, remember that. Should never be partisan, anyone who supports this should be ashamed of themselves

remember the saying - “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”

    “what goes around, comes around”

impeachment has been cheapened and abused, the precedent has been set

Now i find it remarkable how some are claiming trumpism is like the death of the republican party and conservatives like john kasich or romney would have won in 16 or 20. OH MY LORD..

Reality check. Trump is the best thing to happen to republicans. Kasich and romney would have had 0 chance of winning MI, WI, PA and 0 chance against Hillary clinton. Pure conservatism is a dying brand, trumpism saved the republican party.

let’s not forget trump beat hillary clinton by winning states republicans were not expected to win. In 2020, he got 75 million votes, more than any republican in history and not even close. He grew his appeal with blacks and latinos, more of them voted for him in 2020. Facts are facts..

The reason some want to desperately brand trump as toxic and kill the movement is because the democrats know trumpism is a far bigger threat to them than the dying pure conservatives. The old rep guard are never going to win again given rise in diversity, progressive wave... trump’s populism is far bigger threat to the left than the romney’s, kasich’s, liz cheney’s and this is why the left is marketing these losers as they ‘best of republicans’ lol.. wonder why?? THINk

and i have to say, i’m so PROUD of republicans in the house, the vast majority are standing strong... not succumbing to this reverse mccarthyism, intimidation tactics from the left, big tech and msm... fleeing trump and 75 million voters would be the end of the republican party, the rhinos are no threat to the left, trumpism is and they want to squash it.

STAY strong republicans, hold your ground...

Why was Trump impeached so quickly? Might have been because all of Congress were first hand witnesses in the event.
    Sort of changes the dynamic.

But I do remember that Trump supporters were angry that Democrats wanted to impeach Trump since the day he took office. I want
to congratulate Trump supporters by beating that record by 6 days.
