I tried a Cuban delivery system once when we lived in Miami and I forgot to order the food and oh, my they ordered food for me. I know a lot about Cuban food and this was stuff I had never tried. The order was placed on time for the next delivery. I really love Cuban food it is the best.

You've got my attention. Both my husband and my ex's are Cuban, from Cuba. We both had mothers-in-law who could cook their butts off.

Living in Ft. Lauderdale has its' perks. There is no shortage of Cuban food, here.

I haven't mastered much, but I do a really good ropa vieja and my black beans can pass.

I suspect the possibility that something happened and I killed it by continuing to drive it. Not really my fault though. Went to garage next day. Said come back next week. Came back next week and it was come back next week again. It was about 3 and a half weeks between the original event and them finally having time to look at it. I drove it as little as possible but I did drive it to work and on several short trips to the store during that time.

Evenin y'all. Interesting reading catching up. :)

4 day weekend here. Its funny how teleworkers look forward to holidays. "Oh boy I dont have to sit in front of a monitor in my pjs today!" Then sits in front of monitor surfing the net in their pjs. Oh well, its the thought that counts. (And the $$)

    Rock on!

Black beans Cuban style takes all day to make and worth every bite. I miss good Cuban Restaurants and the small coffee stands to pick up a cafe con leche.

Have you been to Calle Ocho festival?

I don’t have a lot of experience with ghosts, but I’ve spent a fair bit of time around critters—wild, domesticated, and semi-domesticated. Really there isn’t a whole lot of difference between the three. All are more intelligent and perceptive than given credit for. Recent research on how dogs develop ability to spot “bad” people really just confirms what we’ve been observing for centuries.

You make a good point about animals and people rarely interacting in the animal’s preferred surroundings. Certainly animals “get used to” people who are around a lot and don’t harm the animals. But a human who is around animals a lot can go into a new environment where the animals there have never interacted with the human and be accepted by those animals.

There are as many variables to animals accepting humans as there are for humans accepting other humans. Odors, body language, patterns of movement, and general attitude all affect how animals react to humans. It’s not a universal dread of humans, the fear is a product of one or more of the above (and more) metrics that the human can control.

Another good observation. Animals are all different. They have very distinct personalities including different manifestations of sense of humor. Yes, the world would certainly be a better place if we could accept individuals on their merits instead of political or other labels attached to them.

I had to ask my husband. He went three years in a row while married to her, and was living in hialeah. He said it was a wild time. :)

I quit drinking a variety of boozes around 1978. I once had a fine stock of a variety of liquors.
Gin can be easily drank straight from the bottle if it is a good brand.

It is like being transported to a foreign country rarely will you hear English spoken. When we went it was years ago it was lively and fun.

A dog that may make you think otherwise is the Presa Canario. A famous couple went to prison over theirs.

    Question for the group here.
Who would have convicted the couple in the matter of the death of Diane Whipple?

My opinion is that it puzzles me.
First who can control the Presa Canario? Does merely owning such dogs imply that humans are responsible for acts by dogs?

Take the case where the illegal alien used a gun to kill a female at Fisherman's Wharf. The court let him get away.
The Attorneys that essentially owned the two very dangerous dogs did not chain them up on a farm. Read the case for relevance.

So for Whipple is it Justice when for Kate Steinle her killer is not punished?

When was the last time a dog offered to share its lunch with you? ;)
Comparing dogs and humans is not a good idea, their thinking is completely different.

I think if you swapped the word Dog for Tigers The answer would be clearer. If you kept a pair of Tigers in your LA flat and as you took them out the front door they attacked someone, would you be responsible for their deaths.

When was the last time a human licked your hand, or wagged his tail when he was happy to see you? To be honest I would favor my dogs company than some people I know. Nicer doesn't necessarily have to be about sharing food. ;)

You are looking at this as the Democrats powerbases San Francisco and S. Cal and the state looked at it.

Presa Canarios do not magically appear. Somebody imported them. Do we reach back to importers to jail them too?

Daisydotell I am interested in how you see the dog owners in San Francisco that unfortunately could not stop the male dog from killing the woman? I think those who check out Presa Canarios will admit they are dangerous.

That depends on whether importing them was illegal.
If I import Tigers legally but then someone decides to keep one in their LA flat, the result is not the fault of the importer.
