I stayed in trouble constantly in Catholic school because I asked to many questions. I had to bring my parents to school because I wrote a paper defending Martin Luther's stand against the church. Mother inferior threatened to expel me my final year if I didn't stop making a couple nuns cry because they felt they failed me in teaching me the word of God. They even brought in the priests to straiten me out. I agree whole-heartedly that interpretation should not be in the hands of amateurs but can be extremely dangerous in the hands of the learned. When I was in my 20's I bought a two volume set of "The History of Christianity". By the time I got through the first book I was no longer a Catholic. When I would ask my parish priest a question his pat answer was " You have to take it on faith". I believe today in a God but not in any manmade religion. I never forced any of my children to believe in God or religion. I still enjoy researching religion and try to understand how a few can control millions even to this day. It is not just the religions. The masses who are willing to follow the Charlie Manson's, Jim Jones, Louis Farrakhan's, Adolph Hitler's etc. What is so lacking in men's character that they get caught up in clutches of evil in the name of righteousness?

 

A "one world government" would surely be hierarcical as is our own government.

We have national, state and local government. A "one world government" would usrely be a layer above that where issues involving the interactiosn of all countries and other such issues crossing country boundaries are the issue.

Today, we have the UN, WHO, WTO, UN based human rights organizations, world court, etc., etc. These ARE essentially parts of a one world government.

The USA has a pretty good contingent that doesn't like that, as they would like to be independent of any law and operating to our own benefit based on our economic and military power, NOT on the basis of law - even though we claim to be dedicated to the rule of law rather than "might makes right".

I strongly doubt that this level of government would make things boring!

But, it absolutely WOULD make things better for the majority of those living on Earth.

To suggest that a god would create a hierarchy of souls would also be suggesting that there is a hierarchy of gods.
