Worst Secretary of State Ever

This fat sow will go down as the worst secretary of state ever! Like Trump will go down as the worst president ever in American history too! Everyone in Trump's cabinet is probably the worst ever?!!

Trump may have some competition for the worst president title, but Pompeo is in a class of his own.

It’s an open question whether Donald Trump will go down as the worst president in American history (James Buchanan and Andrew Johnson remain formidable contenders), but there’s no question that Mike Pompeo, his most fervid lapdog, is the worst secretary of state.

Through his two years and nine months as the nation’s top diplomat, Pompeo has said or done nothing that’s enhanced our security, our values, or even—right or wrong—his administration’s own policies.

His tenure is ending with crushing humiliation—a snub from our European allies, who are fed up with the trashing he and Trump had dealt them these past four years. On Jan. 4, Pompeo announced that he would travel to Europe and meet with leaders of the European Union. Two days later, in the wake of the Trump-incited riots on Capitol Hill, EU officials said they wouldn’t meet with him—tiny Luxembourg’s foreign minister publicly denounced Trump as a “criminal” and “political pyromaniac,” for good measure—so Pompeo canceled his last chance of a taxpayer-funded trip overseas.

It has been a long season of humiliations for Pompeo. In August, he pressured the U.N. Security Council to pass a ban on conventional arms sales to Iran. Only one of the council’s members, the Dominican Republic, joined the U.S. in supporting the ban; Russia and China opposed it; the others—all U.S. allies—abstained.

The episode typified, in extreme form, two of Pompeo’s most distinct traits—an obsession with fomenting regime change in Iran and an utter incompetence at making that or any other goal happen.

Like Trump, Pompeo ceaselessly inveighed against the Iran nuclear deal; it is no coincidence that Trump pulled out of the deal and reimposed sanctions against the Islamic Republic on May 8, 2018, just 12 days after Pompeo was sworn in as secretary. (His predecessor, Rex Tillerson, had advised Trump to stay in the deal.) Pompeo claimed, with swaggering confidence, that the sanctions would compel Tehran back to negotiate a “better” nuclear deal—or possibly force a collapse of the regime. Fast forward to today: Iran’s economy is a wreck, but the regime survives, its hard-line factions are stronger than before, and its reactors are closer than ever to churning out an atomic bomb. (President-elect Joe Biden wants to restart the nuclear deal, but Iran’s technological progress and the stiffening of its politics will make this harder to accomplish.)

Pick pretty much any Trump cabinet appointment, add the word 'Worst' at the beginning and the word 'Ever' at the end.

There ya go.... There's really not much challenge to it.

When I first became politically aware, I thought Pompeo (in the CIA) was a cut above the average Trump tool.... I was wrong...

 

I don't know Pompeo and Geraldo Rivera would make a cute couple don't you think? I can totally see them together.

Well, there are several vying for the title!

The serial corruption of the Trump Administration will keep investigators, grand juries, prosecutors and Congressional committees busy for years to come.

Pompeo is a thug. He has presidential ambitions, too.

 

Of course he does... he's smarter than the current POTUS, and he knows it....

I can't imagine anybody who had direct contact with that idiot couldn't think they could do a better job...

Anybody who worked until the final days in this administration will have to answer those questions the rest of their political lives...

 

Pompeo doesn't even come close...

 

In face of all of the other Trump failures, it is easy to forget that the Trump administration has been horrendously horrible on the foreign affairs front. If one reads the foreign press, it is like the world has been holding its breath, waiting for the Trump to be removed from office. Once Biden is sworn in, the rest of the world will let out a great big sigh of relief.

 

I have been noticing how Iran and North Korea are letting out great sighs of relief.

Actually the Trump administration has been a great relief for North Korea.

 

They have certainly been very quiet.

 

Too late. Obama is already the worst president in history.

 

Has not Kim Jong-un been bragging about how he played the Trump? How he got the Trump to stop the yearly warship maneuvers in the seas around the Korean Peninsula without having to give up anything.

 

I have been reading Obama’s new book, a Promised Land. Reading through his book and seeing the depth at which he thought about things, I am reminded that Obama was able to write a very well written book with compelling interesting material.

Then we look at the Trump and wonder if can read all that well, let alone write a book.

 

They don't have to be loud right now. The Trump administration's move on China has had the effect of pushing China and North Korea back together.

 

Pompeo is definitely the worse, hands down.

 

I worry less about what he says and more about what he does.

 

When have they ever been apart? NK would starve to death without China.

 

Proof that Pompeo was the worst Secretary of State ever

Right there he made a fool out of the United States by trying to cloak himself in the Truth of God.

Then he made a fool of himself because even if he believed it, it was stupid for him, as the secretary of state, to frame it in such self contradictory manner. Within the space of seconds he first states that America is a force for good, then he turns right around and contradicts that by saying that the US made misjudgments that are dire. It was butt stupid and proves that he is the worse secretary of state ever.

 

The relationship between NK and China was quite tenuous for a while.

 

China did not like Kim's rhetoric. Kim went quiet the last few years. That is about the extent of it.

 

Oh you don't have to wonder at all, he certainly can't read well. He even admitted that he doesn't like to read long reports.

 

No its more than that. There has been an increase in China being loose with sanctions.
