Back when that was true, it was a lot harder to take advantagement of our welfare system. In fact, we barely had one.

Would you agree that immigration helped us become great primarily because those people came here to produce labor and contribute to our prosperity, and if too many come here looking for a free ride, they will instead reduce our prosperity?

Lets' get ALL 5 territories as states.

We could definitely use more SCOTUS judges, 9 isn't enough. Why? Because it gives the swing judge too much power. More would make it so they would have more of an incentive to be moderate in their decisions.

More justices would ease the case load, get rid of the power of the swing voter, give incentive for justices to be more to the center.

Yeah, everything Trump does, according to Trump, is 'historic'.

Give me a break. His underlings bring him a crap load of **** to sign, and he signs it.

All presidents do that. He's got some major negatives, and he has to go for that reason.

I wouldn't know since we don't give anyone a "free ride". The amount of welfare we give anyone is just above bare penury and certainly not worth a trip of several thousand miles and resettling oneself in a foreign and hostile land. People with low skills generally come here to SURVIVE, they have no other choice. OR they come here because their country has little demand for their output, just like we soon will if short-sighted conservative trade practices continue.

Then it's high time it was included and the bill passed, since the groundwork has already been laid

Abortion is recognized as a right even by the most conservative SCOTUS judge who calls it "settled law". Changing that would surely result in more judges on the SC bench, which can be done now.

    Are you listening to yourself?

How do you think Biden's policies will help create more demand for US output?

Remember, we are talking about people coming from other countries where there is little demand for their output. (you say) So if what you are talking about is the existence of people automatically creating demand, then you have to ask yourself why they can do it in country A when they apparently were not able to do it country B.

The US has some big problems. When it comes to the actual financial numbers, the US doesn't really export that much "innovation".
(not compared to what is spent on imports)

There are agricultural exports, but most of those profits go to gigantic agro corporations, while most of the workers are low-wage migrant workers.
Not exactly what the doctor called for if you're trying to create American jobs.

I din't care what people 240 years ago may have wanted. Its time to start living in the modern age instead of worshipping 240 year old slave owners.

Mainly by encouraging our manufacturers to make better products cheaper. We certainly won't do that by taxing our own people who try to buy cheaper products from foreign makers, which is what a tariff is. All we do there is protect our own makers of shoddy and overpriced goods, raise our own prices and cut ourselves out of foreign markets. Tariffs do, however, enable corrupt pols to reward their own friends at our expense, while at the same time falsely seeming to bash foreigners which is why Republicans love them so.

The right to abortion is sacred.

Only about one third of the founding fathers owned slaves. George Washington himself never purchased slaves he only inherited the ones he had. And freed those after he and his wife died.

Uh huh. Like their laws banning abortion and the idiotic "war on drugs?"

I looked that up. Drug laws were enacted by Democrats. Abortion takes a life. My daughter had a daughter on Saturday and it would have been tragic for her to have an abortion. She has a son who is a joy.

Democrats have since 1933 blanketed our nation with laws. It is one reason I left that party.

I believe it took some years for the Washington slaves to be freed.

A major problem for slaves was laws against them being educated, who would hire them and where would they live issues.

I agree, but many conservatives don't.

The most hypocritical posts on this board are when so-called "libertarians" come on as pro-"life"

Sure you spoke of taxing the Chinese harms America.
I only agree that it harms america like taxing the rich harms america.

The tax principle is precisely the same things.

Freakonomics did research on abortion. They claim black crime rates plummeted due to it.
