Biden aide tells 8,000 Honduran migrants heading to the US to turn back because they won't be allowed across the border 'immediately' as Guatemalan forces use sticks and tear gas to stop caravan.



The large contingent of Guatemalan security officers managed to stop the migrants from advancing beyond Vado Hondo, with perhaps as many as half of the people in the caravan dispersing into the nearby hills or heading back the way they came, according to a Reuters witness.

On Friday night, two groups of more than 3,000 Honduran migrants each pushed their way into Guatemala without registering, part of a larger migrant caravan that had left the Honduran city of San Pedro Sula before dawn. A third group entered Guatemala Saturday.



Even if the migrants do get past, Mexico is preparing to stop them at its southern border with hundreds of security forces, arguing it must contain the spread of the virus.

Mexican and Central American authorities have coordinated security and public health measures in a bid to deter mass movement of people across the region.

On Saturday Guatemalan soldiers blocked part of a caravan of Honduran migrants at a point not far from where they entered the country seeking to reach the U.S. border.

Tough choice. But the Democrats will probably do both - turn some back and let those who braved the caravan and illegally cross the borders to stay in America. Both the Democrats, the Illegal Aliens, and Mexican crime gangs will all be happy together.

That will be a good test of intent. My guess is that they will be overwhelmed in dealing with a rush to the border since they won't actually try to stop them, they will try to process them. It will be 2014 all over again.

On the other hand, different Mexican President who seems less open to have thousands of foreigners crossing his country, so lets see what Mexico does first.

FYI, here is an idea, how about we work with Mexico and help stop the caravan. If you have a globe, an atlas, access to google maps, you will notice a geographical choke point to help deter the migration. Trump knocked on Mexico and of course they did little to stop it. Maybe this could be an epiphany for Trump supporters to actually give themselves some introspection about working with others politely
