    That's right my libertarian and libertarian-minded friends - according to Obama spy chief John Brennan, you're a "very, very serious and insidious threat to our democracy and our republic" that is part of an "unholy alliance" with "religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, nativists" that the Biden team, law enforcement, Homeland Security, intelligence, and even defense officials are "now moving in laser-like fashion" to "uncover" and "root out".

    Evidently, we're back to the halcyon days of the Obama Administration when people who are "reverent of individual liberty" and "suspicious of centralized federal authority" got the same treatment.

    the good news is, there is chatter that these insurrectionists are backing down, the chatter says that Trump can't protect them, so they fear the repercussions ... so this is good news

    they wanted a dictatorship, they failed, democracy won, America won

    Do they have no awareness of how unappealing Brennan is? Or have they simply run out of options re who will whore themselves to whatever script is put in front of them?

    Sorry as the statements by Brennan and others show the last thing that one on nov3 was Democracy. We are now moving to a one party totalitarian state in which any and all dissent will be crushed. No one hates like lefty hates.

    He wasn't talking about the Cato institute. His choice of words is strange, but he didn't mean what the OP claims. Extreme libertarianism is anarchy, so perhaps he meant anarchists.

    There was nothing strange about Comrade Brennan's choice of words, and as I pointed out in the OP, nothing new, either.

    Comrade Brennan deliberately didn't mention anarchists because they're aligned with the Left and the Democratik Party. Libertarians are not.

    He meant what he said - libertarians - and he obviously didn't qualify who he identified, much less referred to them as anarchists when he was perfectly able to do so. He knows the difference between the two.

    That's not true. Whether it was in revolutionary Russia, civil war Spain or the United States today, they've been aligned with the Left and parties on the Left.

    Of course, Comrade Brennan's Anarcho-Marxist fellow travelers in AntiFa aren't card-carrying Democrats, but as we saw last summer they've found each other quite helpful in advancing their common and individual interests. Especially, when/where there's little ideological daylight between the Democrats and anarchists (e.g., Seattle and Portland).

    Desperation noted.

    Of course you're correct, and I never claimed otherwise, but they are fellow travelers on the Left and allies of convenience. They're perfectly willing to use and be used by each other if it suits their interests.

    The only things the nomenklatura and apparatchiks in Washington care about is their own power and privileges. The greater threat is on the Right, and as long as AntiFa/BLM/ANSWER and the rest of the alphabet soup of Leftist groups are fighting that threat they have nothing to worry about. They're just pawns on the chessboard...

    It sure is, and to prove the point Comrade Brennan admitted that he voted for the CPUSA's presidential candidate in 1976.

    Given the ideology and agenda of the New Democratic Party, it's no longer necessary to vote for the Communist or Socialist parties of America...
