Credit goes to Eleuthera for bringing up this article published today on RT. Constructive feedback welcome.

    **
By Peter Andrews, Irish science journalist and writer based in London. He has a background in the life sciences, and graduated from the University of Glasgow with a degree in genetics

Although the numbers of deaths attributed to the virus in the UK are higher than they’ve ever been, in total, not many more people are dying than in any other cold season. Is the mainstream media finally waking up to this?
A recent article in the Telegraph is one of the first in a mainstream outlet to even suggest a challenge to the official coronavirus narrative. These days, that narrative claims that the ‘second wave’ is actually deadlier than the first. (Recently, some Branch Covidians have been claiming a ‘third wave’, but there is not yet a united front on that.)

The basic reasoning of the article is sound, even if it is long overdue. It laments how every day, the media solemnly reports the latest figures on Covid deaths. Presenting this figure in isolation results in graphs such as this one, which does indeed seem to show that we are at the height of a second, worse phase of a pandemic. But, like any statistics, daily death numbers are meaningless without context, which the media rarely provides.

They do not provide context because, if they did, the public might see a graph such as this one, from the Telegraph article. It quite clearly shows the spring spike in overall mortality, which was caused by Covid (plus lockdowns). After that ends in summer, we see… nothing. Overall mortality ever since, even through this winter, hovers at around the five-year average. And overall mortality, as I’ve repeatedly pointed out, is the only true way to know whether you are in a pandemic or not – all other figures can easily be fiddled.

Excess deaths in the UK stand at 76220 since March 20. Do you have a source that disputes this?

No 76k number (where'd you get that number?), but the article links to the following graph that strongly suggests that the Covid 19 death numbers are highly suspect:

No. However, the article in the OP isn't saying there hasn't been more deaths throughout the last year- he is only talking about this cold season. Looking at your chart, I think I see the issue- the excess deaths happened earlier in the year. So it looks like the main argument is that the idea that there is truly a "second wave" is just propaganda.

That graph does not go into January where we are seeing over 1000 reported daily covid deaths

A second wave of deaths has hit us but started at the last week of December and is only now beginning to drop down. Whether it's worse than the first wave is yet to be seen

From the original article in the telegraph,

I make an early caveat here that I firmly believe we are having a deadly second wave, and thousands more people are dying than would be expected ordinarily at this time of year.

This analysis should not be used by lockdown sceptics to justify why severe restrictions were unnecessary. It was clearly essential to control the growing pandemic, particularly at a time when we were not sure how deadly the new variant would be.

And it is vital that we keep cases and hospital admissions down, not only to protect the health service but also to prevent large numbers of people from ending up with debilitating long Covid.
    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/01/18/analysis-second-wave-nothing-like-first/

Exactly what the filth at RT have tried.

Its not often I get so angry but this week thanks to the incredible staff at Royal Cornwall Hospital the sight in my left eye was saved by doctors and nurses who were working 18 hour days and 21 staff down. Dr Nazih had been working 21 hours but insisted he would stay until I got there to be examined, then he sent me 200 miles for an operation on a detached retina. I saw the strain that corvid has put on two hospitals first hand. So I get a little bit angry when people who are no have not been anywhere near a NHS hospital talk ****.

There were well over 1000 deaths back in December as well, if we are looking at over all deaths. As to how many were -Covid- deaths, I'm not even sure that this alleged Covid 19 virus exists. I'm not a researcher in the field or even a journalist who's focused a fair amount of time on it, but the more I read, the more skeptical I become about it. Was just reading an article from Iain Davis in Off Guardian published way back in November, really gets me thinking. It's here:
COVID19 – Evidence Of Global Fraud | Off Guardian

    I'll quote the introduction:
    **
COVID 19, and the subsequent governmental responses, appear to be part of an international conspiracy to commit fraud. It seems there is no evidence that a virus called SARS-CoV-2 causes a disease called COVID 19.

Sometimes you have to go with your gut. I am not an expert in genetics and, as ever, stand to be corrected. However my attention was drawn to some research published by the Spanish medical journal D-Salud-Discovery. Their advisory board of eminently qualified physicians and scientists lends further credibility to their research. Their claim is astounding.

The genetic primers and probes used in RT-PCR tests to identify SARS-CoV-2 do not target anything specific. I followed the search techniques outlined in this English translation of their report and can corroborate the accuracy of their claims about the nucleotide sequences listed in the World Health Organisations protocols. You can do the same.

D-Salud-Discovery state there are no tests capable of identifying SARS-CoV-2. Consequently, all claims about the alleged impact of COVID 19 on population health are groundless.

No one is denying that Covid cases have gone up. The issue is, why? Is it really because more people are getting Covid or is it just because people are getting tested more often? And what is Covid anyway? For more on that, please see my Comment #10.

I'm referring to the graph in the twitter which plots how many covid reported deaths there are and the maximum it shows is around 300 reported daily deaths. Current reported covid deaths are over 1000 daily hence that graph is not up to date. If you are going to refer to that graph then you have to use reported covid deaths otherwise you might as well discard that graph

    Hey, here's an idea.

Cold and flu deaths are also caused by person to person transmission just like Covid. So if we went through Covid prevention
protocol for the last 9 months, wouldn't it also make sense that the transmission and deaths from the flu would
be reduced? So reduced flu deaths, but increased Covid deaths.

I don't know. Maybe that's just too logical. Maybe a cigar can't just be a cigar - maybe it has to be a grand conspiracy.
What do you think? Should we abandon logic to fuel conspiracy theories like the one you posted?

The issue I'm trying to get at is this- a lot of covid infection reports as well as covid death reports are suspect. For this reason, it's much better to look at the total daily deaths in a given period and compare them to previous periods. I agree that the telegraph graph doesn't include January's Covid deaths, I'm just poining out that December had more than 1000 deaths per day in terms of total deaths. What I don't know is what the -total- daily deaths are right now in the UK and how that compares to last year at aound this time of year.

Ok, so somehow these protocols work for a disease we didn't create them for, but don't seem to work for the disease we actually made them for?

Peter Andrews' analysis disagrees with yours.

His analysis corroborates so many other analyses showing this to have been a planned event, Plandemic.

THAT is the elephant in the room.

You come across (maybe I'm misreading your point) as supporting the official narrative, which is fairly common in this time of universal deception.

Peter Andrews is making the radical statement that we've been deceived by our "health" guardians. He's right.

it does not serve an agenda given that non-covid deaths are now reported as covid deaths. But, we are assured that politics had no play in this at all..................................................

I have friends who say the same. I do not understand what the motivation would be for all these health providers, in every corner of the world, to claim that this is a hoax.

Of course, there can be exaggeration, and sometimes there is money in it. American hospitals are reimbursed by the federal government for unpaid covid related costs.

The motivation for dissenters is to simply state the truth, so that their patients and others can make an informed decision. They are pointing out, with the luxury of some degree of hindsight, that the virus is not nearly as deadly as it was initially portrayed by the authorities, and that there has been gross manipulation of numbers, both the death numbers and the number of cases. They are pointing out the bloody obvious, that the PCR tests upon which this whole thing is founded, were not designed for diagnostic purposes, and that in fact innumerable false positives have been generated.

As for the financial incentives, they are everywhere here in the US. I do not know about the UK, but here the treasury has been plundered by the medical industrial complex, by way of the CARES Act, which has very suspicious origins.

Alright, so it would seem that there has indeed been a spike in overall deaths in January. The next thing would be to look at the evidence to try to figure out why. I'm guessing lockdowns and people running out of money to properly feed themselves probably has something to do with it.

Then you would be wrong. We've had money thrown at us during the past 10 months. The people who did not have money given are people like myself, higher earners, who has investments that generate a higher income than my usual self employment income from my hotel that I had to close because of the pandemic. All my staff have been receiving furlough pay and they also received additional benefit due to being on low pay to begin with. All the unemployed have been given extra money on top of the usual unemployment benefit (I still don't know why they needed extra money given that they did not work in the first place). No one died from lack of food

Ok, so your logic seems to be, "throw money at poor, problem solved.". I mean, it's a step above Marie Antoinette's "Let them eat cake!", but not by much. There's also no guarantee that money thrown in such a manner was spent in the best possible way, or even an adequate way.

Perhaps not, but I'm not so sure that -no one- has died from a lack of food in the UK, especially considering the burgeoning amount of homeless people in the UK, which has grown to 70,000 households during this p(l)andemic.

But the issue isn't only that people get food. It's also an issue of how healthy the food is that they're eating, as eating unhealthy food leads to malnutrition. The NHS's own website has this to say on malnutrition:
"Malnutrition is a common problem that affects millions of people in the UK." And we're not even getting into things like pollution of water, air and airwaves.

Have you noticed that the Covid deniers are the same people who call man made global warming a hoax, are anti-vaxers, think 911 was an inside job and believe that Biden stole the election? They are immune to evidence.
You are right not to waste your time.
