I just told you. Ditch the EC sorry but WY should not have equal say as say CA NY or TX.

You have any examples of that from other countries that are geographically and demographically similar to the United States?

You're going to replace the political system you oppose with what? Popular election of the President is a minor change.

That would strike at the core of American history and political thought. That is that the individual states should be represented as well as the people as a whole.

You're basically advocating for mob rule in the United States

Whats your point? Its undemocratic and gives too much say to big empty land. This isn'r 1789 anymore.

What is so great about being "democratic"? Have you ever actually justified that view or do you simply assume it's a good thing because you've heard for years that it is inherently good?

Well its certainly better than allowing one senator from flyover territory hold up everything because our structure is archaic.

Good luck getting the required number of states to agree to it.

Why not go with a federal system like they have in Canada and Australia?

So the people of that state which the Senator in question is supposed to represent, their views don't matter? You're saying that Senator should be beholden to the views of others in the U.S. that have never voted for him and that he will never represent?

    How is that "democratic"?
How is that "better" than our current system?

Basically you are arguing for the "tyranny of the majority". That is that the beliefs and interests of a smaller group of Americans should be ignored or even suppressed because those interests conflict with those of a greater number (or what you claim is a greater number).

It would make more sense. The country is too big to government by winner take all elections and offices anymore. Not to mention the ridiculous cap on house seats which is another concession to big empty land.

I never said that, however CA should have more say than WY sorry but thats the truth. Not all "states" are equal.

I have no problems with expanding the number of house seats. Though by your stands those "big empty lands" would still be overrepresented.

Parliament has enormous power in the British Parliamentary System. A majority government can do pretty much as it wishes. During the entire 20th Century, not one majority government was defeated in the House of Commons.

If you want a government that can get things done, go with parliament.

One of these days, Democrats will learn that whenever they use their power to increase their power, it will come back to bite them.
    This is no different

That would cause so much outrage that Republicans would turn out en masse in 2022 and retake both houses of Congress with ease.

You know neither Biden nor Pelosi want that to happen.

If Dirty Donald does as he is threatening and forms a third party, the GOP will never win again if they are splintered.

We shouldn't annex states for purely political reasons. We should annex them because it makes logical sense on a bipartisan basis. DC is just a city and makes no sense to annex. It makes more sense to incorporate into Maryland, because it used to be in Maryland anyway. Guam and Puerto Rico are culturally more like other countries in the region and not like the US. Other nations have given their former colonies independence and we should follow their example. Also, they have a lot of low-income folk and will be a tax liability.

SO its fair 3 states like ID MT and WY get 6 senators but DC has to merge with another state and get no senators? Sorry but flyover territory is over represented and most of those states were "annexed" for political purposes.
