    These are the income limits to be eligible for the $600 stimulus check

    Now, individuals earning up to $87,000 and couples earning up to $174,000 will receive some form of payment. Individuals who earned up to $75,000 in 2019 will get the full amount of $600 and couples that earned up to $150,000 will receive $1,200.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/12/21/inc...earning up to,to $150,000 will receive $1,200.

    NOTE: The ones who received $600 will soon get an additional $1,400.

    YOUR Quote: I counted citizens

    MY Quote; I counted qualified citizens

    And once again,

    Last April's stimulus checks were distributed to;

    73 million couples X $2,400 = $175.2 billion
    78 milllion individuals X $1,200 = $93.6 billion
    40 million children under 17 X $500 = $20 billion

    Thus, 73M + 73M + 78M + 40M = 264M ''qualified'' citizens, thus;

    Qualified couples, and their children under 17
    Qualified individuals, and their children under 17

    That wasn't the problem and actual science says the lock down from the beginning of March to the end of April wasn't effective at stopping the Pandemic. What the actual science suggests is that governments world wide were wholly unable to deal effectively with the pandemic. Most of it having to do with how integrated modern society is and how densely populated the earth has become.

    At some point it should sink in. People under 18 have to eat also. Cost wise, their needs are just about as expensive as an adult.

    1 except for the fact that such a lock down is a figment of your imagination unless you'd rather a million starve.
    2.even if they comply they still need to obtain food.
    3. Apparently not...

    Closer to 300 million??????

    I disagree!

    IMO, closer to 325 million

    Here's why;

    U.S. citizens Antonio and Maria Martizez, and their two children lives in El Paso, Texas. Over the last several years, they've also accomodated one illegal cousin.

    Household survey question;

    "Mr. Antonio, including you, how many persons live at this address?''

    Answer; 4

    In other words, your assuming all illegal immigrants have been counted by said household survey question.

    One of the themes that has emerged from Trump's flirtation with autocracy is how authoritarian populists seize on governmental failure. Using it to entice voters by suggesting the autocrat can get things done.......if by fiat.

    It's why the Dem's efforts to once again show government can be effective in addressing the public's needs must not be allowed to be frustrated by another round of McTreason's obstruction.

    In another thread, this Trump loyalist quoted;

    "More military intervention on the taxpayer dime....just like the good old days''

    On the taxpayer dime?????????????

    My response;

    Certainly not your taxes!

    It's borrowed money, due the fact, the amount of taxes Uncle Sam will collect in FY2021 equates to our Mandatory expenditures, and interest payments.

    In other words, our grand children will end up paying for our Discretionary expenditures.

    Question: Where were your taxpayer dime concerns when Trump/Congress increased our deficit from $585 billion to an estimated $1.1 trillion?

    I pointed out they could give $1400 to every citizen, and it only takes a half trillion dollars more or less. Not two trillion like when they throw in all the other pork.

    Well, I admit at the start of the pandemic before anyone knew what was going on, many lives were bound to be lost eg as we observed in New York.

    However, the response of the Chinese in Wuhan....and later, strict lockdowns in Australia - which has the advantage of being a sparsely populated island continent with most of the population living in cities - showed the death toll CAN be virtually eliminated by strict lockdowns. [I recall the premier of the state of Victoria, Daniel Andrews, being called "Nazi Dan" by Conservatives in the US and Australia, because of the severity of the lockdown in Melbourne which saved untold lives.

    So yes, Trump could have saved "half a million lives" (projected, by March) minus say an initial loss of c. 20,000 give or take, after which further loss of life was perfectly avoidable.

    Are America's Richest Families Republicans or Democrats? (forbes.com)

    (The above is a link)

    "The politics of other billion-dollar families aren’t as well known. Of the 50 richest families, 28 mainly donate to Republicans and only seven contribute mainly to Democrats. Not all families stay on the same side of the political spectrum — 15 support candidates from both parties."

    Yes, and they all want to raise taxes on the rich.

    If they don't, they are not democrats.

    Warren Buffet said so,

    Nick Hanauer said so.

    There's ways around that. As mentioned earlier, the reconciliation process. If I were minority leader McConnell, I would invoke cloture on the vote and strip out the poison pills that democrats put in. In fact, that's exactly what he would do in that scenario. Your suggestion isn't the first time a party tried to force hard votes, and there's known tactics around it.

    FOR ANYONE'S INFO.....

    Current U.S. Discretionary Spending

    Discretionary spending is the part of the U.S. federal budget that Congress appropriates each year. For Fiscal Year 2021, President Donald Trump requested $1.485 trillion.

    FY 2021 Budget

    The Trump administration released its budget on Feb. 10, 2020. It asked for $1.485 trillion in discretionary spending.

    https://www.thebalance.com/current-us-discretionary-federal-budget-and-spending-3306308

    -----------------

    QUESTION:

    In this forum, back in February and thereafter, pork or no pork, how many of his loyalists complained about said $1.485 trillion Trump REQUESTED?

    Answer; ZERO!

    Also, who remembers this proud Republican saying;

    ''The Newt Gingrich Congress spent less than REQUESTED by Clinton''

    Well, ironically, WITH PORK, Congress will end up spending less than REQUESTED by Trump.

    In addition to the above, here are actual Discretionary Spending figures;

    FY2016; $1.185 trillion
    FY2017; $1.200 trillion
    FY2018; $1.261 trillion
    FY2019; $1.337 trillion.....................FY2021; Voted by Congress, $1.4 trillion
    FY2020; Requested by Trump; $1.438 trillion
    FY2021; Requested by Trump; $1.485 trillion

    Table 8.1 - OUTLAYS BY BUDGET ENFORCEMENT ACT CATEGORY: 1962 - 2025
    https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/hist_fy21.pdf

    Thus, an actual $1.4 trillion isn't the problem, it's the PORK!

    AND ONCE AGAIN, in this forum, how many have complained about Trump's requested amount of $1.485 trillion?

    Strict lock downs in New York and LA have not helped noticeably if at all deaths per case have fallen everywhere since June. Regardless of lockdowns. They'd fall even more if we made antibody testing mandatory.

    Quote; Thus, an actual $1.4 trillion isn't the problem, it's the PORK!

    The QUESTION we should be asking ourselves isn't What pork?......It is Whose pork?

    For example;

    Common saying; "We should spent less on NASA, and give to the poor''

    NASA's Budget since FY2013

    FY2021; $25.2 billion, requested by Trump

    • FY 2020: $22.6 enacted, $23 billion requested by Trump
    • FY 2019: $21.5 billion, Trump requested $19.5 billion, Congress allocated more
    • FY 2018: $19.5 billion, Trump requested $19.1 billion
    • FY 2017: $19.2 billion, Obama requested $18.3 billion
    • FY 2016: $19.3 billion, Obama requested $18.5 billion.
    • FY 2015: $18.0 billion
    • FY 2014: $17.6 billion
    • FY 2013: $16.9 billion, Obama requested $17.7 billion
    https://www.thebalance.com/nasa-budget-current-funding-and-history-3306321

    Note: $19.2 billion to $25.2 billion equates to a 31% increase over 4 years, and/or an annual increase of 7%.

    Note: The Ginrich Congress kept spending at BELOW inflation and population growth.

    Today's annual inflation rate; 1.4%
    Today's annual population growth rate; 0.6%

    Thus, NASA's excess spending, Whose pork?

    I'm not finished! We'll discuss all the Pork

    Next; $2.4 billion for “democracy programs''......it's a foreign assistance

    Trump made this one a joke, thus, definitely money we could give to our poor citizens.

    Next;

    $1.7 billion to Jordan

    WTF is this?

    Well, here's the reason why? Dec 30, 2020 — U.S. Assistance to Jordan The United States has also provided nearly $1.7 billion in humanitarian assistance to support Syrian refugees in Jordan since the start of the Syria crisis.

    To support Syrian refugees.......partially due to our military presence/activities in Syria, both against the regime and ISIS?????

    Thus, whose pork?

    Next;
    • $3.4 billion for “Refugee Assistance”

    Migration and Refugee Assistance$3.4 billion to maintain the long-held U.S. commitment to protection and addressing the needs of refugees impacted by conflict and other natural and manmade disasters.

    We're a Christian Nation, thus, who the **** cares?

    Whose pork? Has to be Democrats.....too much foreign sympathy
