Why are the unions surprised? Why didn't they realize they were supporting Obama's anti-pipeline stooge? Sounds like the unions are already missing Trump.
    .
Unions that endorsed Joe Biden for president are experiencing some buyer's remorse only days after his inauguration. In one of his first actions in the White House, President Biden canceled the Keystone XL pipeline. Now, the unions that supported Biden are criticizing the newly-elected president for the political move that they say will "kill thousands of good-paying union jobs!"

Do you think the unions didn't know what his thoughts were on the pipeline?

Well first off a union endorsement is like a newspaper or TV station endorsement -- one man, the most powerful of the group, decides which candidate to endorse. That doesn't mean all others in the group or other members agree. So in reality it don't mean squat, except for publicity plus there will always be sheep members who will fall in line because they don't think for themselves or they don't want to make waves. So how does the most powerful decide -- it all comes down to money and power. One man will benefit from an endorsement and later many may suffer. I think either the union bosses didn't think about how Biden would act on the pipe line, or Biden lied to them, or they don't care because they have their reward. I can't say which is true in order to answer your question. So tell me what you think?

Or they are looking at the big picture and not just one tiny little thing and attempting make something out of it.
The pipeline is but one job and it's not dead yet. This is nothing and the unions know it.

The ink was barely dry on Biden's EO's before the Right began spewing lies about them.

While the overall opportunity for job creation during a shift to renewable energy is enormous there will unquestionably be some displacement of workers involved in legacy energy output. That is an unfortunate but necessary consequence of saving the planet.

How would you describe the "big picture"? I don't think one man's job is a "tiny little thing" to him. And certainly thousands of jobs is not a "tiny little thing" to any union or group of workers.

    You're already flailing.

"When combined with additional 2021 contracts to be announced later, the total number of American union workers constructing Keystone XL in 2021 will exceed 8,000 and $900 million in gross wages," the release said. "In total, Keystone XL is expected to employ more than 11,000 Americans in 2021, creating more than $1.6 billion in gross wages."

That’s close to what the State Department found in its 2014 report.

In the report, the agency wrote that 10,400 estimated positions would be for seasonal construction work lasting four to eight-month periods. Since the State Department defines "job" as "one position that is filled for 1 year," that would equate to approximately 3,900 jobs over a two-year period.

In short: Most of the estimated jobs were temporary.

The State Department forecasted that no more than 50 jobs, some of which could be located in Canada, would be required to maintain the pipeline. Thirty-five of them would be permanent, while 15 would be temporary contractors."

Why wait for the ink to dry when you will lose your job. Sounds as though you agree with Biden's EO?
Do you really think renewable energy will create enormous jobs? Do you really think what we do here in the USA will "save the planet"?

I'm glad the jobs being lost are Democrat union jobs and not American jobs. Democrats who lose their jobs are getting what they voted for.

You know full well what the big picture means.
The pipeline will not create "thousands" of jobs, that was debunked years ago.

Luckily for Biden, the last dude in the White House set the bar so low that as long as the guy doesn't spend $130 million
playing golf and hire Omorosa, he's ahead of the game.

Lots of luck on that one.

The news reported thousands of people were working on the pipe line. Biden shut it down. Did you pass math?

And you believe 'the news' all of a sudden?
Might be a few hundred on the pipeline itself and 'the news' (far right no doubt) is then adding in every job that has any, even a small tie, to the pipeline. And everyone knows they haven't been lost yet.
Lets get grounded in reality before the hyperbole takes over shall we?

The euro zone countries are kicking our ass in their rapid switch over to renewables. Another field we are falling behind the rest of the world in.

Yes - we should have focused our resources on infrastructure, technology, education - ramping up our economy to compete in the 3rd millennium .. but we didn't .. instead we spent that money on useless wars based on lies - and paying double what other nations pay for Healthcare..... and now we are screwed .. to put it bluntly.

This however does not change the fact that Domestic - Pipelines 1) good for the Economy 2) a whole lot better for the Environment than Import/Tanker

So one of Biden's first acts .. was 1) Dumb 2) Dumber.

Sure, you're right, Biden stopped the Keystone pipeline construction and not a single person will lose their job. Yeah, I need to get grounded.

I don't know if that is true or not but it is possible because our dumb politicians are sending them our tax dollars.
