I don't see how this won't splinter the Republican party.

Yep. And trump killed it. I said as much in 2016.

Nah, RINOs killed it. It was dying until Trump revived it. The GOP, outside of Trump, are mostly spineless cowards. Democrats aren't afraid to take off the gloves to win, but Republicans want to play by the rules. Why don't the GOP demand resignations from anybody and everybody who ever posts threats to them?

Similar to Afghanistan. Republicans are the coalition troops, playing by the rules, following ROEs, checking all their Ps and Qs; Democrats are the Taliban executing women and children because their husband/father joined up with the ANA or ANP and planting roadside bombs in neighborhoods because to them, more civilian casualties = more casualties they can blame on the coalition.

So now that Trump is gone, we'll go back to the old ways of bending over, and letting the left have their way with us.

 

A third party named MAGA _________fill in the blanks without the criminal who instigated MAGA-ism will go no where. I guess no one can legally own the term MAGA.

 

It is very true. It happened in the states of Delusion and Confusion. It was very bad In South Delusion and a bit better in the State of Confusion.

 

I am ALL For It.

Anything that siphons off GOP Votes (and Guarantees a Dem.Victory) is a Good Thing.

The Republican Party deserves to die. Hopefully this will hasten its end.

Mail in voting was available to all so if the Trumpocity did not poison the minds of his followers the mail in votes would not have been 3:1.

The voting district that I managed in the Nov National election had a 2:1 Trumpocity advantage for our 'in person voting which is what I managed. After the mail in votes were counted by the mail,in election pole team the Trumpocity won by a solid but not overwhelming amount.

BTW I am very pissed off that the Trumpocity and his followers have accused us election workers of creating a "fraudulent election.

 

The oldest political party in the world is here to stay.

A political party's fortune is based on its legislative success, and on that frontier there's no Moscow Mitch so the ball is entirely in their court, as it was in 2008-2010.

 

The GOP will not die at least not yet..

 

Perhaps how it evolved with Trump as POTUS, the Republican party has lost credibility. But I can't agree with it allowing to die. I would rather see a return to their core principles and give an honest choice to voters. And, by the way, I also believe the Dems should keep to their core principles. Having one leader that totally transforms the party and all it stands for is never a good thing.

The ONLY chance that the GOP has (to ever again be taken seriously, in terms of Presidential Politics) is a return to the Romney/McCain/Kasich Wing.

That Said, "Trumpism" still works (in limited circumstances) on the State and Local.level.

I've always wondered why they are only challenging votes in states where Trump lost. If there was election fraud, wouldn't it be in ALL states?

 

It is against the rules to laugh at what other members post. It should not be so.

Well, McConnell and the boys would like to do that, but, there's a new sheriff in town.

Trump's not starting a new party, why the hell should we start a new party when we are 74,000,000 and the Never-Trumpers are numbered in dozens rather than millions?

Trump will work the primary challenges to back-stabbing, petting-zoo, Never-Trump, Republicans. These Republicans need to be seriously challenged during the 2022 primaries in order to make sure we end up with representation that best fits their electorates.

I asked another poster who claimed Trump could be convicted, which with Leahy presiding will require 18 votes, IF Dems hold all the other Dems. So, I asked for a list of just 6. Still waiting.

Anyone who votes for Trump's impeachment will be carefully evaluated for a strong primary opponent. Vetting will be important. Several Tea Party-backed candidates defeated electable Republican incumbents, only to lose in the general election. We don't want a repeat of that.
