"Americans paid almost $64 billion less in federal income taxes during the first year under the Republican tax overhaul signed into law in late 2017 by President Donald Trump, with some of the sharpest drops clustered among taxpayers earning between $25,000 and $100,000 a year, even as the overall number of refunds dropped during a turbulent tax season."

Your repeated attempts to derail the thread are getting tiresome.

Also, your obsession with Trump is unhealthy. I honestly think you might be the only person on this thread repeating his name.

Trump’s Corporate Tax Cut Is Not Trickling Down - Center for American Progress
    Conclusion
While the effects of a very large tax overhaul will take years to fully develop and analyze, the evidence from the first two years suggests that corporate tax cuts are draining revenue from the U.S. Treasury while doing little that would ultimately benefit U.S. workers. Instead of trickling down to workers, the 2017 tax cuts have largely served to line the pockets of already wealthy investors—further increasing inequality—with little to show for it.

    Socialism for the Rich.

I agree that Trump is neither a Republican or a democrat. He fancies himself as more of a Monarch(nice way to say dictator). He does what he thinks is best for him and his view of the world, if that happens to help his followers or the people in general, that’s just a a by product. Trump will do or say anything at any cost if he thinks it will help him. He an amoral, psychopath, the sooner more people realize that, the better we will all be.

Wall Street guys and hedge fund managers got the biggest piece of tax cuts. None of the other millions of wealthier people? Hahaha.

The tax cuts to the wealthy in general spurred investments and created jobs, leading to the best economy in decades. Almost everyone downstream also enjoyed a tax cut.

Democrat leaders and their Left State Media have greatly exaggerated the story that Trump gave tax breaks mostly to rich people. Not surprisingly then, left leaning folks regurgitate the fake news as if it were gospel truth.

Meh. Anecdotally, I was worse off after 8 years of Obama and better off after 4 years of Trump. I see Biden installing Obama programs which will make my life worse again. So yes, despite Trump's persona, his policies "happened" to help a lot of Americans.

Now "nice grandpa" is busy destroying the country...with a smile and a nod.

    Policy > Personality

Destroying the Country, in your opinion. Anecdotal Evidence bad.

Factually speaking, Trump did much worse as of now. One of the worst economies in history (the worst jobs period), and the lowest approval rating in history. Democrats do better on average.

I’m a life long pub, and agreed with most of his policies as well. I also did very well during his term. As a hard working guy, I have usually done well no matter who has been in charge. More importantly, I believe we need to move past how well we did or didn’t do under any particular POTUS. What makes Trump different than the typical contemptible politician is his psychotic, unstable personality, which makes him a clear and dangerous threat to our Country.

With Biden's 50 years in office, he's the embodiment of all the corruption and crony capitalism which have destroyed us. And now he is deteriorating mentally. A man with dementia doesn't exactly make America safer.

Okay. He didn't just give it to them. It just benefits them because they make way way more money than even the 10% below them. That is just the way percentages work. Besides, Wall Street Guys, don't pay taxes so much on income as they do Gains and Trump didn't reduce gains tax. I agree that he should have raised gains tax to be equivalent to income. It makes no sense that I work hard and pay 25% taxes but Wall Street dude pays 10% for gains he got by manipulating the market with pump and dumps and betting short falls.

Apparently the SEC is opening an investigation, assuming this is over blocking of stock buys by Robinhood in order to protect the Hedge Fund shorts.

If the corrupt hedge funds don't like the Robinhood traders using social media to shill stocks the hedge funds shouldn't use mainstream media to shill their long and short positions

The New Jim Crow Biden system is just the Old Jim Crow Biden system, but with a modern plot twist. For the next four years, we will judge people based first on their skin pigment, followed by their genetalia. I can't imagine why everyone won't be overjoyed at segregating the country by race again. Pointing out race and sex every day is so unifying!

You really called it. The funniest part of this is that many of the plebs seem to be taking the side of the hedge fund bastards. They've been well indoctrinated.

You seem to confuse "free market" with "capitalism." Free markets do not require capitalism, and capitalism does not require free markets.

What we have is capitalism that is not a free market, it is crony capitalism. The ideal is free market capitalism, but I guess we might be better off considering free market alternatives to capitalism.

That's what should happen in principle, but Wall Street, in general, is not a free market. Free markets don't get bailouts by the government.

It's more than coincidence that Vice gets investment from a lot of venture capitalists. The hedge fund managers have many ties to the Woke narrative, because it successfully divides the working class.
