A number of US Governors have given COVID-19 briefings today

2 days before Christmas, a number of our nations Governors have held press conferences, most notably among them Gov. Cuomo (D) from the great state of New York and Governor DeWine (R) from the great state of Ohio.

Cuomo is absolutely expert at getting statistics over to people without their eyes glazing over. He is also instituting, with the voluntary help of all three major US-Airlines, mandatory C19 tests for all who are flying into or through NY.

He sharply criticized the Trump administration for doing literally nothing since Trump lost the election to Joe Biden.

Gov. DeWine has spent a lot of time in his press conference about the hunger crisis in Ohio and let a number of people who are donating huge amounts of food to food banks all over the Buckeye state report what they are doing, and where they are doing it. DeWine also got the latest Ohio stats out (Ohio has often been one of the top 5 +case states for days on end). In Ohio, the highest % of ICU patients is happening in very rural counties, especially in the Southeast of the state, close to the West Virginia and Upper Eastern Kentucky borders.

Both Governors took time for questions from reporters and both Governors did live-feeds to local hospitals where essential workers and front-line health care workers are being immunized.

DeWine may not be as exciting to watch as Cuomo, but you can immediately tell that this Ohio Governor's heart is in the right place.

Governor Pritzker (D) from the great state of Illinois also did a press conference - I have not yet had time to watch it.

Governor Ron DeSantis (R) from the great state of Florida also did a press conference - it was ****ing terrible. What a disgrace to our Union that such a bumbling idiot is currently a Governor. Florida needs to do far, far better than this.

The point is: Governors from both "red" and "blue" states are doing their best to get their respective states through this the darkest medical period in the history of the USA, completely in absence of leadership from a hateful and rudderless White House.
