I am not the one who wrote the ancient Scottish rhyme turning Candlemass into the UK groundhog day, but ok.

If Candlemas Day be fair and bright
    Winter will have another fight.
If Candlemas Day brings cloud and rain,
    Winter will not come again.

    I know you didn't (I wasn't being rude) (I thought I was being amusing)
I was thanking you for reminding God that if it rained on the 2nd of Feb, then he has to turn the taps off for a bit. :)

Do you have the equivalent of Ground Hog day across the pond?

Personally, I wonder what the little begger would taste like as sausage...

How did Groundhog Day get started, anyway? Who believes that sunshine or clouds, in a particular park, on a particular day in February can predict the end of winter? Why a groundhog?

Officially retired from the military. Been a long month preparing for the contract world but glad to be a civilian now.

How's life on the forum been? I'm finally home :)

20210203_151447.jpg 20210203_151414.jpg Saw my little female goat bleeding from behind. Thought she had miscarried. I heard a little baaa...baaa and found the little brown one around the corner. Then I heard a baaa...baaa. and two more babies showed up. All girls.

    Awesome!!

Is it normal for a goat to have more than one at a time?

Welcome back! It's been a bit conspiratorial around here, but that's for other threads.

Twins are common. As many as three but three are pretty stressful.

Been a I am Sick of Being Near People Day. Forgot it was the 3rd of the month. When you live in a city full of poor people, the 3rd of the month is a day to shelter in place. I put off going to a bunch of places I needed to go until today thinking it was just another Wednesday.

Wow. I would not have guessed. (I also would not have guessed a human could cook eight in there, so there's that.)

The black and white girls are from Nelly. The little brown one was Nellies granddaughter. The mom is last year's baby from Nelly.

~ Yes - one of several born in my yard who decided to stay. She comes in the house too. Her sister almost looks like a twin but not as friendly. They are now officially "spoiled" family members . [IMG]

I adopted a Main Coon runt. He's long gone. He was teeny-tiny and he had a larynx problem, so he couldn't really meow. His meows sounded more like hissing. Sweetest lil' thing. When I find a picture, I'll post it. He died young due to kidney disease.

~ Sadly many cats born to stray mothers are DOA or have various defects. I find dead kittens now and again. Very sad...

One of our cats, lil' dude, just came up to us one day while we were sitting outside and said, "Hello, you belong to me, now." And, so we did.

    Cats are so interesting.
