LOL - being hypocritical is a major skill set needed to be elected to Congress. Resign? He's doing what all politicians do.

He's catching "hell," right now, but his constituents will still re-elect him. The proles just need a humble apology.

All he needs to do is keep supporting Trump, if/until his base turns on Trump, and then he needs to denounce Trump.

Pretty dopey move, but to paraphrase an old saying "A day without Ted Cruz is like a day with sunshine"...

The only question is will Texans remember this when it's time to vote for Cruz (and that bozo Abbott, for the power problems)

    I doubt it...

Cancun Cruz really messed up this time and he knows it. When folks like NY Democratic House Rep AOC and Beto O'Rourke have done a lot more to help the people of Texas than dushbag Ted during this crisis, something just ain't right. You know, there's always a tweet for everything, Grandpa Munster in Sept 2016 - "I'll believe in climate change when Texas freezes over" - well, here you are Ted. You know things are awkward when Cruz heads to Mexico with his family to seek a better life, if only for a short time. Ted Cruz, the most hated man in the Senate - and that's just what the Republican senators think.......

Perhaps you misunderstood what the mayor of Austin did then. Perhaps you forgot that there was an actual travel ban in place when the mayor of Austin went to Mexico? Meaning not only was he locking down his city, he was violating his own rules for moving freely about the cabin, as well as having violated the national travel ban (in force at the time). So, Ted goes to mexico, no travel ban in place is there? Ted hasn't locked anyone down, has he? It appears tone deaf, for sure. But Ted hasn't actually been the executive who made folks in the state miserable. That was just the democratic party mayors. Carry on...

One thing sticks out, working with Gov Abbott in getting help from fed and organizing the distribution and administration of the relief aid. He is a Senator.

    Just a thought :)

Let's permanently trade him to Mexico for three dozen cases of Dos Equis.....

OK, it's a human being for beer, so they can throw in some tortilla chips as well...

I dunno, I'm pretty sure the Mexicans would send three dozen cases of Dos Equis (if not more) only if Texas promised to keep Cruz at home. ;)

Is a hurricane a humanitarian crisis?

I like what this guy did..... I'm not a truck guy, but this sounds like a potentially useful feature if you live in an arctic zone (like Houston Texas.....LOL)

I did have to laugh at this line

    SNIP
I ran it for about 10-12 hours per day to keep the freezer food frozen.
    ENDSNIP

Uhhh... can't you just put that stuff in a few boxes and take it outside?

Depends on the damage, this is no way compared to major hurricanes. If a few days without power creates a humanitarian crisis, I feel for our country if something really bad happens.

The deliberate obtuseness does get long in the tooth at times.
