Yes, this is a tough one in the US where the system forces people to behave like squirrels and put money way so they can survive retirement. Many find it hard to be generous when they don't know if they'll have enough for themselves.

 

The greed of American people will ensure they take the stairs down rather then up - which you ignored as usual - according to your religion.

 

Such coverups have tarnished their reputation. As a protestant, I don't get it why they wont allow their priests to marry. I know what their explanation is, but it does not make sense to me.

 

Homosexuality is mentioned in the bible and therefor existed before religion. It also occurs in nature. For those that believe in god, that would make it his creation. They have a right to their opinion, but no authority to force it on others.

People loving each other is good for society. The atrocities committed by those following religion, not so much.

 

It is a hyperbole / exaggeration like "plank in the eye" or "swallowing a camel". In those days wealth was seen as a measure of blessings, but Jesus taught otherwise. Earthly 'blessings' cannot buy salvation.

Wealth alone does not take anyone to hell. Abraham, David, Salomon etc were very wealthy.

They have authority to make rules in their own church, and they don't force anything on others because no one is forced to listen to them. The days of inquisition and crusades are over.

Religion always existed. People had to believe in something to quell their fears and gain their desires. The idols they worshipped were demons. They did not know our Creator God Who consisted of Pure Love and Virtue - that is until God revealed Himself to Abraham.

Before Noah though, there had to have been a knowledge of God, but as usual, the people self destructed with their sins. After Abraham, God revealed Himself even further with Moses, and showed that He consisted of certain moral laws.

When the time was ripe, God revealed Himself fully with His Word in the Person of Christ and showed us that He consisted of Pure Love.

Homosexuals are victims of a sick society. They're not to blame for their condition nor should they be condemned. The ones that should be condemned though, are those who want to proselytize it and make it more prevalent in society.

 

It's economics. The Catholic Church cannot afford married priests. I guess because they support too many institutions throughout the world. They did close a lot of them here, which is a pity. I assume it's the American Catholics that are supporting the institutions in S. America and Africa.

Catholic priests are supposed to be monks, but it's hard for monks to live in the world and especially in a world that is sex obsessed. Anyway this is just my opinion. I'm not Catholic, I'm Greek Orthodox. Our priests do marry, but not the bishops.

Its not a money issue. The RCC is the largest real estate owner in the world and probably the wealthiest organization on the planet. I believe McDonalds is #2 in real estate.

 

I thought "he" could see literally everything, including what was in people's hearts when they committed sins? Why would he need witnesses when he saw it go down himself? I seriously cannot believe you guys buy into this stuff. A talking snake tricked some woman a couple of thousand years ago (when they were the first and at the time, only humans in existence) and as a result all of us, their extended family, are born cursed. Correct. The Vatican only said that the RCC will not bless such unions, but obviously they do not have the authority to stop gays from getting married outside the church.

 

There was a time that not only gay marriage was illegal but Homosexuality was illegal as well. That's all in the past and in the present. Gay Marriage is here and there isn't anything that will stop it regerdless on what anyone says. and that goes to the Catholic church and the Traditional Catholic church and all other denominations.

 

We (the US) had death penalty for gay sex, until Jefferson declared that castration was sufficient. And now the Supreme Court (conservative, no less) declared gay marriage legal nationally.

be happy that gay marriage got passed. Stop pushing it! You can't re-write a religion based on WOKENESS. you can bend some rules, find some loopholes, but they are asking too much now. Just be happy with what you got already!

In the Genesis account, God reveals to Abraham that Sodom and Gomorrah are to be destroyed for their grave sins (18:20). Abraham pleads for the lives of any righteous people living there, especially the lives of his nephew, Lot, and his family.
In the bible God destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomarrah for possibly homosexual lifestyles that might have included gay marriage. That was just the way things were back then but in these modern times, God isn't going to destroy places like San Francisco for their lifestyles anytime soon, I just don't see it happening.
