For a short time, I confused the right leaning folks here at PF as being representative of all right leaning folks. I was relieved when I learned that not to be true - and it makes dealing with folks here much easier.

What promise did Trump make about China trademarks?
What promise did Trump make about Indonesia?

I could waste my time hunting down who kept what promises, and there are many, but that wasn't the point of my responses to Durandal. You also didn't understand what the comment 'how did Trump benefit from lying' actually was addressing.

President Trump is a pathological liar – he is lying even without any financial benefits. What financial or other benefit he could gain by lying that will work, work, work and not playing golf?

What financial or other benefit he could gain by telling his supporters that disinfectant injections with cure Covid-19?

But he will not miss any opportunity to get richer – the tax cut was sweet deal for real estate tycoons and the same with Chinese trademarks and ZTE.

What I highlighted pretty much tells me you haven't bothered to actually find out what he said, or the context of it.

Until then, have yourself a wonderful day.

I liked the “Stop the Steal” campaign

“As President Donald Trump seeks to discredit last week’s election with baseless claims of voter fraud, his team has bombarded his supporters with requests for money to help pay for legal challenges to the results: “The Left will try to STEAL this election!” reads one text....
Trump’s solicitation website carries a banner headline that says “OFFICIAL ELECTION DEFENSE FUND” and “CONTRIBUTE NOW.”

Scrolling down the page would take a donor to the fine print, which shows that donations are split between “Save America,” which gets 60% of the money, and the RNC, which gets the other 40%. None of the money flows to Trump’s official “recount” committee fund until Trump’s Save America share reaches the legal contribution limit of $5,000, according to the disclosures.

That means that, before a dollar goes into the recount fund, Save America would receive $5,000 and the RNC around $3,300. Donations to the recount committee are legally limited to $2,800.”

    @Sallyally
Do you subscribe to the idea that
voter fraud changed the JFK vs NIXON 1960
result. Specifically via Texas (LBJ) and Illinois
Chicago area votes. The Daley Machine!
    Dead People Voting, oh my

No, I don’t believe that voter fraud is that widespread.

    Dead people voted !
1960, JFK vs NIXON was close.

"they stole the election fair & square"
1968, NIXON was not going to be cheated again.
He over reacted with Watergate, etc.

    YOU @Sallyally don't believe it?

Speak clearly into the microphone, please

“Voter impersonation, also sometimes called in-person voter fraud,[1] is a form of electoral fraud in which a person who is eligible to vote in an election votes more than once, or a person who is not eligible to vote does so by voting under the name of an eligible voter.[1] In the United States, voter ID laws have been enacted in a number of states by Republican legislatures and governors since 2010 with the purported aim of preventing voter impersonation.[2] Existing research and evidence shows that voter impersonation is extremely rare. Between 2000 and 2014, there were only 31 documented cases of voter impersonation.[3][4] There is no evidence that it has changed the result of any election. In April 2020, a voter fraud study covering 20 years by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found the level of fraud "exceedingly rare" since it occurs only in "0.00006 percent" of instances nationally, and, in one state, "0.000004 percent — about five times less likely than getting hit by lightning in the United States."[5]

Old news. Sixty years ago and the whole process was rife with corruption anyway.
Voter fraud now resides in the heads of trumpists.

IS! She said IS not was. Stop talking about Nixon unless to compare the relative integrity of the Republican party compared to today's who prefer to take away power from a member who voted her conscience than one who is certifiable because he has money.

It is a crying shame what passes for politics in the USA and for political discussion and debate on this forum and elsewhere these days, that's for sure!
