You told a story about a crook you worked for as an intern. What party was he a member of? Why were you there? If you told a worker he was a crook, how come you were there that day working for him?

I have a crook story too. This man hired me to manage his real estate office. I managed in 6 months to turn a dead non productive real estate office into the talk of the city Realtors. At the time he could not devote full time to his own office. I did not know he was a loyal Democrat. But at that time so was I. It did not matter at all. What he did was make side deals with agents customers. And the agent paid the price for his deals. Such as loaning them what turned out to be the agents income as part of the customers down payment or closing costs. One month he nailed me for I believe around $3,500 dollars. This was 10 percent of the price of a very good home. I confronted him since the deal he nailed me for was not even my sale. One of the agents asked him to do it, but as the manager he told me my duty was to pay for things the agent needed. I was angry. We went to breakfast at a local restaurant with the promise to rectify what he did to me. There he totally changed my management agreement including compensation packages. I was losing a hell of a lot more money than at the start.

I quit him on the spot and went to a local female lawyer. She gave me the wrong advice and I simply never got the money he owed me. I knew later other of his managers and since we became pals, they told me how he rammed it up their bung hole too. No manager told good stories about his firm treating managers.

So after I opened my own Real Estate firm, and some of his agents followed me, he later ran to be on the City Council. And won his elections. I had been elected to a key spot on the real estate board. And later on the State of CA board of directors for the state real estate association that had 135,000 members at the time. I did not waste too much time dealing with this crook. To the public they thought he was a nice man. They did not know him at all. Then he becomes a member of CA Assembly. There he was known around the state as I was myself as a CAR director.
He ended up buying a franchise I told him was a waste of money and would cost the agents more of their income.
After he left that franchise in the dust, he was able to grow to a number of offices. So the crooks can still be millionaires as he clearly was.
