Both sides have many racist people online. To say only one side has racists is wrong. You must not follow black conservatives on social media. I have seen some called coons and uncle Tom's etc.

I have found the left and Democrats to be very hostile and full of hate on Twitter so I ended my account there and never went back. I am still on Facebook which is a less hostile environment but the censorship there on conservatives is bad.

So Parler became my new goto place. However I had to be selective in who I follow because some conservative posters there posted very offensive stuff. Since Parler was taken down and brought back up my account no longer works so I gave it up but it was a good social media service minus the offensive and ugly posters. I still have Mewe and it's a ok bare bones place to talk politics but even some conservatives on there are offensive so I rarely visit it.

I have found racist, hatefull, offensive and down right ugly people on both sides. I don't think you are seeing the entire picture here. Often times a person only sees one side to the story and base thier oppinions on that.

I don't believe I've ever claimed it is all one one side, but I will continue to point out that one side is dramatically worse than the other. I have spent a great deal of time among people from both left and right. I have no illusions about the behaviour of people on the left, but levels of racism are much, much lower.

Just follow the posts on this forum for a while. There is an infestation of holocaust deniers - those who express political opinions are overwhemlingly right wing. Then there are the apartheid supporters - right wing again. Then there are the ones who openly state that some (or all) non-white races are inferior or in some way bad - also right wing. I'm not even talking about the ones who use coded language so they can pretend its not reacist, I mean the out & proud racists. Then there are the people who have never seen a black person unjustly killed by LEOs.....and so it goes. There just isn't a left wing equivalent to this that gets anything close to the scale of what goes on with the right.

And it isn't just this forum. It is over and over again. Deny it if you want. Perhaps you don't really have a choice.

Just out of curiosity... would you say the same if one of the cops in Portland or anywhere else during the Floyd riots pulled out a gun and shot someone in the head for breaking and entering or for threatening the life of an officer by throwing concrete blocks or frozen water bottles?

 

You have no idea if there was a warning or not. "Plenty of back-up"? Compared to what? The hundreds trying to get in? Unarmed =/= not dangerous.

 

I have to agree with you on the doing his job, even over zealously. He's on his own and shoot or don't shoot is his decision. Of course, I don't see George Floyd as a different situation or those other disputed shootings by cops. They do their job.

That’s fair. Let’s assume she heard the officer warn her and she wanted to retreat in that situation and not get herself and her baby shot and killed. Could she have done so with the crowd physically pressing in on her?
