Mine already had a stand up shower but it had a wall & glass door. Removed all that and adding new tile. Tile walls will be replaced by drywall and painted. New fixtures and lighting.

Now I cant retire till I pay my savings back... but gonna be worth it! ;)

    I am watching - The Old Man & The Sea - { 1958 }
I started Saturday night and watched all but the final scene
Wednesday night.Based on the Novel by Ernest Hemingway.
A well established Fisherman of Marlin { sailfish }.
So Spencer Tracy plays Hemingway. He's a dirt poor Old guy
living on less than the bare necessities on a Cuban village right off
the sea.He goes out each morning like the other village fisherman.
He's a streak of bad luck lately.Returning each night with no
important catch. So he goes out as usual this one morning, really early.
Nothing to eat just a jug of water.Has 3 rods { sticks } with the
necessary bait.Catches a Bonita early in the day and keeps. To use as
bait. Then eats later in the day after landing a really big bite.A truly
powerful fish.It takes 2 more days to finally tire the marlin and pull in.
He knows he needs energy.Thankfully on one of his lines he lands a
small dolphin. Then admits after cutting into and consuming raw, like the
    Bonita.That Dolphin is terrible raw.
Would Shark be any better.Even if sautéed in fine butter and spices.

Now ... now ... now ... Dipping into yer savings.Don't tell us that you
have dreams of breaking open yer prized Piggy bank. With mostly 5 & 10's.
    The occasional Jackson { $20 } and even less occasional Grant { $ 50 }.
Plus them pesky IOU's.With stuff like peanut butter and chocolate stains
permanently smeared.Oh! to be a fly inside that Piggy Bank.

Nothing too fancy. I wanted a tile floor in the shower but the contractor talked me out of it. (By telling me it would cost as much as the whole rest of the room.) So Im getting a regular shower pan. When Foolie sends me his pin #, I'll get the shower floor tiled.

What sort of tiles are you going for?
I was a kitchen and bathroom fitter for nigh on 20 years.

Thinking of small tiles. Havent really given it much thought since 1st priority was foundation issues. Had one contractor fix floor down problem... another installing shower pan and tiling shower walls and bathroom floor. The fun part, didnt think about it taking a few days so I'll be sleeping with a commode & vanity in my bedroom tonight. At least theyre both new!! ;)

Beautiful I wish we could grow them here but...too warm.
How are the wild rhododendrons doing in the woods? They still grow wild in the woods or do they?

Sometimes larger tiles break easily. Especially if the underlay is not properly done. I once did my bathroom in all black tile. I thought it looked cool.

@politicalcenter. One time I think you told me what to do for algae growth on top of the pond. I am too lazy to go looking for the post so could you please tell me again and forgive my laziness.. We have a great crop of algae growing on the pond. It is kind of pretty but it is messing up the water..

Plants. Plants will take nutrition out of the water and algae will starve. Also make sure the fish population in under control. I have tons of plants and use them as a filter. A water change with nutrient poor water may help. Like rainwater. I have flag iris, pickeral rush, water lilly, arrowhead , and other stuff. I could send ya half a pickup load.

I don't done believe that Tiles like to be thought about.
Nor would a Stand-up shower being compared to a stand-up
pol.But if you insist than make sure to fix some nice homemade
cookies for when the young hunk contractor makes his appearance.
Better than an Old { dirty old } man contractor who when he bends over
shows more butt than a 50's Burlesque Floozy.
    Think Dan Aykroyd From a 70's SNL { Saturday Night Live }
episode as the fix-it-all guy who wears pants that keep falling down past
his waist. There are guys like that out there.
