Yes, they do. They can be found in the coastal mountains and lower levels of the Cascade Range.

And a week later and none the wiser. As the closing scene shows
The old man back in his simple shack as he's back to dreaming.
Not before his little buddy helper { native boy } was all the while waiting
for his return.Making sure to check on his whereabouts each and every day.
Bringing him fresh coffee in a can and also meals.
As the old man is seen in closing, dreaming his usual dream.
As a Younger man in Africa watching the young lions at play.
As it be known far & wide that Papa Hemingway was a Cat Fancier.
    Thus is Life.

In Key West he had cats and some of the decendants of his original cats (about 54 cats) still live there. Can you imagine being the litter box person? https://www.ravishly.com/hemingways-cats-hurricane-irma-survivor

Seeing wildflowers on a mountain nothing could be prettier, that is if you are a wildflower enthusiast. I am working on starting a wildflower field here. It looks more weedy than flowery right now but it is coming along. I feel like the ant moving the rubber tree plant sometimes.lol.

You got a new car? Tell us about it.. I did too just to run around in and go shopping. Mine is a little Toyota and it gets great gas mileage. The neat thing is it keeps me up on the speed limits posted they show up on the control panel.

From what I remember it was originally a somewhat smallish
Key West yellow in color. Was enlarged as to make into a sort of museum.
I still have never been to Key West. Some day soon. Now that we have a\
    great Governor.Jeb wasn't a bad Governor.Just a kowtowing Mamas boy.
    Who had a sexy Secretary-of-State { Katherine Harris }.

Very nice painting. I always learn something from your paintings. Will have to put some of that learning to work as soon as the garden is harvested. I haven't painted at all lately the last painting was a gift for a friend.

The kitchen counters in Hemingway's house are unusually tall. You would have to be a tall person to use them comfortably. The grounds around the house are very much like what you would expect visiting the Keys. Everything seems to be very convenient or at least in walking distance.

Because why conflate a Handyman with a handy neighbor.
I mean, until and unless ones consults their hands.
I onced consulted me hands.A werid thing happened.
    It started slappin' me around.
    It was like that Peter Lorre short - The Tortured Hand - { 1952 }
similar in shock value to the Alfred Hitchcock Presents :
    - Man from the South - { 1960 } starring a young Steve McQueen and his
    young wife.
I think it more handy to know what you don't know.

It's not exactly cozy like a cottage.Kinda boxy from the pics
I've seen. That is how Key West architecture was approached.
Not for everyone.Like a Frank Lloyd Wright design.

Good morning everyone nice peachy colored sunrise here.

We had a very fast moving storm here last night and thank goodness it didn't last long. A quick strong rain with winds to match.

I'm a fan of scenic watercolors. My buddy of 30 years ago who got his
Masters as an Art student was in constant disagreement. He used chalk.
Was pretty good.I guess he couldn't afford Oil since he was on a shoestring
budget. So chalk it was.I bought his large chalk rendition of urban art.
Like something from a cartoon version of - Good Times -. It was very
inner city.Probably worth something today in this Race intensified culture
we are stuck in.I gave him $ 600 for that painting over 25 years ago.
I have two Claude Monet prints I purchased when visiting France at
Monet's home and small museum. They are numbered.Mu buddy worked
during the summers at a Local art gallery run by a guy who was Asian.
He was kind of a stuck-up prick.By my mom used him often for framing
her paintings. He was good at Framing and color matching the matting.
I recently { last summer } bought a small oil paining by a local female
lady of a farm in her neighborhood with a barn.I have an Oil painting from
before I was born of my Grandfather { Started along with Grandmother the Family
Trucking business } that nobody in the family cared for.Especially Grandma.
My Grandfather passed when I was in 2nd grade.Had the largest funeral
I ever witnessed.Grandpa was sort of a Playboy.Expensive custom clothes,
fancy trips to N.Y.city.Large gun collection. He looked similar to the actor
    { strange name I'll have to get back on this actor,I can't remember his films }

One can sense a good little doggie.Of course things can change on a dime
when a hurried mailman having a bad hair day and too much starch in his
skivvies comes knocking on the door to deliever a USPS package.
Many a dog posess a version of a heightened 3rd sense.

I hate painting for other people. I recently painted a friends old primary school, but the pressure to capture someone's memories is immense.

I do like it if someone looks at my collection and says they want one, I am always pleased to see them go to a good home, but commissions are scary.
