And rightfully so as officers now are being prosecuted to now protect the free people. Has cities like Chicago, New York, Seattle and Portland made their own bed?

The riot control team at the Portland police department decided to quit en masse after another cop was indicted for slugging a photographer.

About 50 members of the Oregon department’s elite Rapid Response Team voted to resign at a union meeting Wednesday, days after the indictment of officer Corey Budworth over the Aug. 18 incident, Fox News said in a report Thursday.

Portland crime statistics are up 132% over the national average and as more officers leave, crime will only sky rocket.

Why wouldn't they, since they're not allowed to control riots, just stand around and watch....hell, they can kick back at home with a beer and watch 'em on TV like everyone else.

They quit their assignment, not their jobs. No guts.

And that Corey Budworth assaulted a woman half his size hitting her twice in the head with a nightstick. POS.

Let me guess, the people who support the murder of a woman on the other side of a door by a capital cop who no one will name now support the death penalty for the named cop in this story because a rioter got a bump on her head.

She was dressed as a rioter, was in the crowd of rioters, and was in the street after being told to stay on the sidewalk. She didn't listen and seems surprised that they treated her as a rioter? Play stupid games...

Antifa/BLM rioters get arrested and released and arrested again the next night with no consequences to them. I wouldn't want to be a cop in Portland. Or Seattle, or San Francisco, or Chicago, or New York.

No, probably mad people were throwing projectiles and Molotov's while buildings were burning and being ravaged.

Jacobs should invest in one of these maybe?

Whelp...Now Portland has no RRT. Rioters are getting their way slowly but surely.

Does anything good ever happen in almost 90% white Portland. All we ever see on these forums is always extremely negative.

It’s not whites who are the problem, it’s the violent liberals.

Hmmm...yeah a lot of anarchists in the NW. But, remember, the NW was the home of the Wobblies once upon a time (IWW). Fiercely independent people.

Portland has good music when you know where to look. The girls are pretty average looking. Down town was pretty fun while I was there in the mid 2000s. Winter sucks unless you are a duck or a mole.
The beer is good. Mexican food is some of the worst in the country but I am told the sushi is good.

Pretty boring stuff. It's more exciting to talk about how affluent white cis-gender advocates and BLM supporters want to burn down federal buildings and maim and blind police officers.

Then the RRT wouldn't be "voluntary."

reading the article, they did not really resign

"In a statement, Portland police said members had "left their voluntary positions and no longer comprise a team". It said the officers would continue in their regular assignments."

    https://abcnews.go.com/US/portland-...ssault-charge-alleged-force/story?id=78304472

""When that line is crossed, and a police officer's use of force is excessive and lacks a justification under the law, the integrity of our criminal justice system requires that we as prosecutors act as a mechanism for accountability," Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt said in a video statement announcing the indictment. "Public trust requires nothing less. And in this case, we allege that no legal justification existed for Officer Budworth's deployment of force, and that the deployment of force was legally excessive under the circumstances.""

just like any other citizen, he can have his day in court, pretty simple

So...it' a protest for the indictment of one of the RRT members who went to Washington and stormed the Capitol, apparently breaking a law. He should have known better. But, there is allot of camaraderie on voluntary teams like that. Sounds to me as if they wanted to express disapproval, but didn't feel strongly enough to resign their regular jobs.

Who cares about volunteers. They can go do their jobs when ORDERED to do so or they can be replaced.

These people are not above the law. I don't care how many quit.

We've all known for decades there are far too many abusive, psycho cops. And we all know that far too many more keep their mouths shut when other cops are clearly committing crimes. Finally, thanks to cameras being everywhere, they can't get away with murder anymore.
