    I sure hope that you're air-conditioned. That's obscene.

Agreed. Its not always necessary to consider someone worse off every time something happens to you.

Yes, my home has A/C. The forecast is for 113-115 today. Fortunately, this is the last day of 100+ temps. Forecast starting tomorrow for the week is high 80s and 90s.

I was Wondering where our typical weather had gone! We have cloud cover and some rains (i can see it in the distance.. sometimes it does not have enough force to make it over the mountains... but ... without looking, I can guess that there was a really big storm along the Gulf coast) jhaven't hit triple digits in three or four days now.

With the record breaking heat, I see that a black container was a bad idea. My blueberry and strawberries got a little crispy, yesterday. The scale on my soil thermometer only reads up to 90°, but the pointer is free to keep going. The temperature might have got as high as 120-140°.

We're projected to get a bit warmer, today. Sooo...

Main problem in my area right not is unseasonably dry along with the heat. The temps are about normal now but got there way too early (back in early May) and we haven't had any real good rains since. My front yard has about given up the ghost. Even weeds aren't germinating it is so dry. when we do get rain, it tends to be superisolated small area events. We have only had 1 decent rain since the beginning of may, and the rest have been brief showers. We had a summer when I was a kid when it didn't rain from early june until after Labor day, but that year it had rained about every day for a month prior. This year it is just dry as a bone after a mild dry winter and warm spring. Trees are going to start dying if mother nature doesn't get herself in order soon.

Our weather has been cool and wet for this time of year. Still warm, but not too bad.

It wasn't a banded water snake we have those here also and some people do mistake them. This was a moccasin. He only has to open his mouth.

Same here, I rode down by the creek the other day and it was like nature had turned on the A/C.

I'm really fighting it, here. I ran out of ice, a few hours ago. The freezer just couldn't keep up. So far, the fish tank is still at 79°, but I'm having to constantly cycle cold tap water through my improvised cooling system.
It's been 93° in the house.
If the freezer can make me some ice, by 11:00pm, I'll be able to get a couple of hours sleep before I need to add more.

More than likely won't see that temp here until a late morning in Sept or early Oct.

Drove thru and fished in the Everglades yesterday. 160 miles, each way. The Tamiami trail cuts thru it, not much out there, some indian villages and a couple tiny towns. Saw this 'post office' smallest PO building in the USA in ochopee. You better have a full tank of gas, when you make that turn west on 41.

Saudis are nasty folk. They used to have up on YouTube
what they did in Saudi for capitol punishment.
Gruesome ain't the half of it.
Public Beheadings { usually in parking lots } with guys dressed
in saudi garb and wielding long swords { so sharp } that even Mr.Sun
wanted to git back home in a hurry.

They told us not to go watch (Why would anyone want to?). We were told that most times it was just a threat. That they would go through all of the motions, but ultimately the person would be let go with only a big scare. But, if foreigners were spotted, they would be pushed up front, where they could have a good look, and the unfortunate criminal would have whichever appropriate body part sliced off.

Leave it to you to find a negative in a National preserve. The same mentality was at play in the foolish attempt to drain it.

My work re-ordered 10K sheets of custom fancy pants paper. They sent it with the right engraving but on the wrong sized paper that won't work in our computers. That is a nice little $3K mistake they are going to have to fix. Must have been done on a Monday LOL as they have been ordering the same paper from the same person for like 20 years.

Anyway, only good chuckle I had on a crispy 98° day

AKA the River of Grass. Marjory Stone Douglas named the Everglades the River of Grass.
