I've been surprised there hasn't been more international outrage. Especially with the recent emphasis worldwide emphasis about respecting minority cultures. Will something like this story increase outrage:

wait aren't they consider chinese minorityso i would think all chinese including the minority need to learn mandarin as its 1st language, just like here we teach kids english not spanish as the dominated language.
the pork/koran burning parts its bit extreme though. it seem ccp is going after the uyghur muslim hard likely due to separatism activity in the region. they didn't seem going after other muslim minorities.
as for inner mongolia, nah, i've been there, all the building/shop signed are in mandarin and mongolian, ppl can learn both mongolian or mandarin, however mandarin is teched in school, mongolian can be learn as 2nd language.
the issue about ughur/xinjian is not about respect minority. its about crushing down any separatism activity or perceived extremists in the region. plenty minorities live fine in china. but as soon as they start challenge the central government, it doesn't matter you are minority or majority, ccp will crushing down hard. if ccp want to get rid of minority, they would done so decades ago, not waiting till now.
