It's been a while since I read about this situation so this might be out-of-date info. My understanding of it is she was going through a very messy divorce and was seen in public many times looking disheveled. People started speculating about her mental health (not unlike what is currently happening with Biden or what people said about Trump) and thousands of people called Family Services calling for an investigation. Her dad pounced while the fire was hot and she had to go through him ever since. I forgot who it was but some famous child actor set up a website "A Minor Consideration" because his family spent all the money he earned working as a kid. It's heartbreaking how many have been left penniless because of unscrupulous thieves in the family. I'm nowhere near rich but my parents tried to have me committed and have a judge appoint them as my "guardians". It was just a plot to get my divorce settlement. It fell apart when I "passed" the psych. evaluation.
I profess to knowing none of the details of her case, but I can't imagine there's not a hot-shot lawyer or firm in the state of California willing to take it on to add to their prestige. Seems to me there's also a "civil liberties" issue here too...hello, ACLU.
I did not know that. The way they were talking on TV, she is wearing a IUD to prevent pregnancy. Thanks for the info.
She was clearly on a life path to self-destruction. Maybe some young people were just never meant to have access to that much money so early in their life. (There have been many cases where money ruined people's lives who won the lottery; they were just not ready for all the choices that came with that much money) I agree this is mainly about managing her sizeable finanacial assets and making sure she doesn't just quickly blow through all her money and end up a destitute washed-up drug addict.
Yeah, if I was in that situation that appointment would end either with me walking out without the IUD or in a body bag with a few for the doctors as well.
I can agree with what you said, but she has not self-destructed, according to the facts. Her father's worst nightmares have not come to pass. How long must he and the state keep her thus restrained? Does anybody in the court or her father's house know right from wrong? Can anybody, including you, call the present situation fair? Has justice been delivered, or is injustice being delivered?
So, we have a legal system that allows someone to control the life of a rich, talented woman but that same system can’t control the lives of mentally ill people pooping on the streets.
A couple nights ago, wife and I watched the doc Free Britney Spears on Hulu ... I never paid attention to her when she was relevant and had no clue that she has been on the scene for over 20 years and she's now 39 years old? ... actually a fascinating show in the train wreck way that it is ...
