The Secrets of Skinwalker Ranch, https://www.history.com/shows/the-secret-of-skinwalker-ranch appears to follow the investigation of phenomena by scientists, at a 500 acre ranch with a long history of strange and exotic claims. If not for the fact that a number of these people are highly qualified scientists, I would assume it is all bs. And perhaps it is 100% bs. But they appear to be using scientific instrumentation and getting very strange results. They constantly have weird and seemingly inexplicable equipment failures; have measured significant levels of various types of radtiation and a wide range of inexplicable RF noise, strange FLIR results, direct observations of strange phenomena, and even claim significant health effects. I have heard about this place for decades and never gave it much thought. It has long been associated with UFO reports, paranormal reports, and native American spiritualism. A skin-walker is believed to be a shape shifting witch that can appear as an animal. I really don't know what to think. People who have studied this area for decades believe there are fantastic explanations needed - like portals to other dimensions, or wormholes. It is absolute craziness but they seem to be getting real and inexplicable results. I even noticed something strange in a video they seem to have missed.
I hate to tell you this but most scientists admit that there is more mystery in their work than knowledge. Science advances all the time but is probably at the first grade level at the moment.
Oh really? Please cite some specific examples with links. Being a scientist myself I am very curious about this. Also, how does that compare to the anomalies at the Ranch on a case by case basis? Maybe you could provide some other specific examples.
Well if you think science knows more than it doesn't know then you are in a minority. You find your own examples if it matters to youl I have no idea. I have never watched the show.
The odd thing I find with "strange phenomena" is it's mostly by "direct observation", and I'm not buying that ALL those who report such things are either crazy or lying. Obviously there are things going on in this world that we can't scientifically pin down yet, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I find "unexplained phenomena" a fascinating subject, if taken with an open mind and a bit of skepticism to stay grounded.
Could be fakes, people trying to make money out of faking stuff, or just being devious for the sake of it. Just like those religious fakes with 'bleeding' statues, relics of saints, pieces of the 'true' cross etc.
The trouble is that they are getting into some serious liability. They would have to be faking RADAR returns on a life-critical piece of equipment on a helicopter. The manufacturer of that equipment could sue the crap out of them if they are faking anomalies. The reputation of their product and company are on the line. The guy running the show is a Ph.D. Physicist. So this isn't like ghost hunter shows where you have a bunch of equipment and people who have no idea what they are doing.
I've been watching the series, they are just coming up with a lot of theories, but no serious answers.
I wouldn't expect any answers based on what they are getting. There is no known mechanism that can explain their data. They appear to be doing real science and that is often painfully slow. They have identified a consistent anomaly at 5000 feet above the triangle. Going up in the helicopter only added to the strangeness. But they plan to put a blimp up there next year. And he discovered that this site is smack dab in the middle of a major meteor strike. THAT was interesting. It did read as banned under my name. Apparently I was banned while I was gone. LOL! I hadn't posted here in about six weeks. I take long breaks from time to time and try to decide if I should bother with this forum or not. Honestly I don't know why I do and one of these days I won't be back. There is no incentive here to make quality or factual posts. Most of it is pure garbage.
No, I remember getting ticked and telling the truth. So I was probably banned for that after I left. Never tell the truth here. There is no room for that.
