The only stakes here, from what the "elite" has told us are, that if you are un vaccinated, you may get China Virus. Of those unvaccinated, a good many have natural immunity. So you personally feel an American elite has a right to dictate what others might put into their body? I made the personal choice to be vaccinated. I have a niece who isn't. She is now recovering from the China Virus. Don't you lay a guilt trip on her! She will be as immune or more immune than I am.

So first tell me if I am vaccinated I don't need to wear a mask then the elite changes their mind and says I will have to. This is merely a game of Simple Simon says played by an elite few. Your posts brings up a vision a year ago of my neurotic daughter in law masked and sitting outside the fence, by herself in centerfield trying to view her sons baseball game. My wife and I and her husband were in the crowded stands behind home plate cheering and socializing, unmasked and watching a team of unmasked players having a good time. You know what? ......her damn mask didn't change a thing but I guess it made her feel really good about herself! (it really did look silly)

There are still some people out there that still think that once they got the virus once and defeated it, They think that they're immune and won't get it again. They are wrong because they can get it again. Those what don't and won't get the shot are in bigger danger than those that got the shots and that is a fact. The reasons that I think is some won't get it and think that they are immune, Some would think it would be a waste of their time, there are some that will not have that vaccine be put in their body for some reason, There are some that are scared to have a needle put in them maybe because it hurts. Get over it and get the shots. We all need to get the shot, it may save your life.

 

I think a lot of people have decided that getting Covid is less of a risk than the side effects of the vaccine. I believe the choice is theirs to make.

 

Well those that decline run the consequences of getting sick and die. You're right, It's their decision and they run that risk. That's all.

People are wondering just who determines the right thing. This Administration has been all over the place with it's recommendations. I got the vaccine the second day it was offered here locally and that was early in the distribution cycle, but I'm not sure I would feel the same sense of urgency today. I can understand the reluctance and I support whatever choice people are making on a personal level. It is their right to do so.

 

So this woman chose to worked to protect herself from a infectious disease with no vaccine or reliable cure while the rest of this family partied with no protections or care for the surrounding people?

You did the right thing and that's good. When there was a vaccine for Polio, they all did and it paid off. If we all get the shot, it will pay off.

If there weren't so many reports of adverse effect for the shots I'd sound like you but till a real vaccine is developed perhaps we are better off to get the virus and get over it. The Delta variant is more dangerous than the Alpha on which the 2% death rate was based. Delta is also more contagious.

Some people have shown a loss of natural immunity after just a matter of months. So you can't assume that eveyone exposed is immune. Just the opposite is likely true after a year. The same is true for other Corona viruses like the so-called common cold. You can catch the same cold every year.

We will likely require a booster vaccination as well. But Pfizer has shown a booster to be very effective against the Delta variant. And immunity from the vaccine is stronger and lasts longer than immunity from infection.

It is true that in some liberal areas like Seattle, the vaccination rate is over 80%. But that is only true in liberal areas.

Don’t know where you get your info from but the only immunity with memory is natural immunity and why you are hearing about boosters.

There is no evidence the delta variant is more dangerous, in fact the data out of the UK says otherwise. We don’t even know how many here have it since the numbers are based on a model and not real data.

I caught H1N1, another corona virus, in 2009 and have not been sick or had a cold since.
