So then how did the makers of - Texas Chainsaw Massacre - go awry.
They mistakenly chose the wrong part of Texas.? I thought it was rural
texas where even cows can pasture with a sense of security and peace.
    But then people ain't cows.I mean,not yet.

    Hmmm...

So, I'm not all that sophisticated.

My neighbor was telling me about how his long time and fairly hot girlfriend decided to break things off with him. Then, he told me about how she would say that she enjoyed talking with me.

Was I wrong to not ask him for her phone number?

How come females are no longer being named Hortense.
A unique and distinguished name.Like Elmer for a male.
Is there a reason.I think there is.Those of the Golden age chose names
based on the distinction it behooved upon one.
It's like making sure a child is properly dressed when the family
    has a Family portrait done.
Or goes off to school with a sufficient breakfast.
Without common sense a Mother & Father are at a huge loss.
Moms & Dads are in control. They are charged with making sure their
kids have a bed,and good nights sleep.Proper shoes and clean underwear.
Brush their teeth and take foods that are nutritional.Simple aspects of
life.Easy to provide an ingrain as important.

Fresh seafood should not be 'breaded and fried' as a default. Especially lobster or crab.

I would say he was testing to see if there had been something from it to alienate her affections.

I think you did best not to ask.

Going to check out this place soon. I hope to find you can park overnight (you often can in areas with fishing and a boat ramp) It's simply 'open' 24 hours.
Just south of Sarasota on Manasota Key. The gulf of Mexico is just to the left. I hate to drive 50 miles to fish and drive back the same day. I like my beer when fishing, sometimes a bit too much. So it would be awesome if I can park after dark.

From this satellite view, I have no doubt I can slip off in a wooded spot and pitch a small tent and make it disappear for some rest before the long drive back, should I drink more than I need to, as far as driving.

I doubt many would try it as the mosquitoes and other biting insects, are ferocious in coastal areas. But I have 100% deet and the perfect small tent for Fl camping. It reliably keeps the rain and bugs off you....AND it's olive drab....not some stupid bright color....not an asset when stealth camping.

As it's my ''weekend'' I will leave here about 3:30 am and beat the traffic to my slice of paradise.....worse case? Another day trip. You can drive on all the visible shell rock roads, all the way to the kayak launch. Somewhere north of the "Y" the roads make, looks like a good place to camp in the bush. Might even spot a rattlesnake, they are fond of barrier islands

Common sense and more importantly, common courtesy are sorely lacking in this world. Example, last night at work, I was cleaning up the parking lot and picking up behind the mechanics (who can't be bothered to do it for 5 minutes at the end of their shift) as my first couple hours are cleaning the property and blowing off the parking lot, before assuming store duty for the next 6 hours.

We have a service truck that does road calls. For some reason, curiosity I suppose....I tried the door handle..unlocked, like the other door as well.

Damn keys sitting in plain view in the center console. Mind you, it's 11pm and by now the mechanics are gone home. Truck is parked in one of few camera blind spots on the property. From about midnight to 4 am, lots of homeless addicts wander around.

So I lock the truck and take the keys in the store. When the owner arrived, early this morning, I told him about it. Someone is in for an ass reaming, he said...."that's MY truck".

What kind of moron does that? I'll tell you who, some idiot with ZERO common sense OR respect for the property of others. No telling how many nights it sat like that, it's a wonder it had not been stolen....full of expensive tools, to boot!

I'm off to do the crew food at a local Folk Festival today.
I'll be there for a week so I was thinking of taking a tent but the forecast isn't great and it's only 20 miles away so I'm just going to come home each day I think.
My tent is a 1950s thick canvas scout tent which is a pain if it gets wet.

In the grounds of an Elizabethan manor built in 1560.
    Nice looking little shack.

Do you think they'll have a spare room?
    It's only a little place.

No doubt they will, only question is, do they open them up? If this spot does not pan out for me, I WILL find someplace I can camp and fish and park overnight.

Yes, I'm being a cheapskate, I aint trying to pay a 100$ + dollars a night to lay my head for 6 hours.

If need be, I CAN find overnight parking and lode my recumbent cycle in the van and do some bike camping/fishing. Fingers crossed I can park at that place. You can walk across the road, and be right on the gulf beach. I like fishing the quiet backwaters (such as the inland side of a barrier island) and swim in the Gulf. Just dont care for beach fishing. Find me a shady spot to fish and a beach to swim.

I suspect it would cost me more than I earn if I took a room in the manor.
The festival doesn't start until Friday night so I won't be missing anything if I go home after I've finished feeding the crew.
I might change my mind later if I like the vibe.
I have been before and the music is a bit dreary for the most part. 18th century ballads about fishermen drowning at sea etc.

I saw 30 + foot waves at our Summer house in Huron.O.
A Blizzard out of chicago struck as I was on my vacation.
It was sometime in early april. My Parents called me around 4 pm
one night warning about an early spring storm out of Chicago.
I did notice { our home is right on the beach with a heavy duty
breakwall } winds starting to pick up.I called back a few hours later
and explained how violent the winds. In fact,we had a young tree
near the breakwall that I said ain't gonna make it.It's bending and
can't sustain much more.I also called back after the sun went down and
explained that the young sapling is gone. And that our valued Big fat sturdy
tree in the back yard about 10 feet from the Break wall can't take too
much either. My dad make a brick wall surrounding the Great Tree in case
the Breakwall broke. It had broke twice since we built the summer home.
About every decade. This breakwall was by far the most sturdy and reinforced.
Halfway thru the night the waves were thunderous and contiuous.Snow
was blowing and I decided to go out and look at the lake.I kept the backyard
Flood lights on but the waves had taken down the middle of the breakwall and
eventually half the back yard.I actually thought the summer home was gonna
get taken into the lake.Every 15 or so seconds a big crash could be heard.
It was the Lake crashing it's huge { 30 foot waves } into the place where the
breakwall stood. As I took a flashlight and braved getting close to the
edge of where it was kinda safe yet I could still see the Lake. After all
this was my first Blizzard.I could not believe the wave action.I never saw
firsthand waves anywhere near this huge.Lake Erie is the Roughest of all
the Great Lakes because it's also the shallowest. It had a history of Freighters
    getting sunk.

Well I made it here a bit later than I had had anticipated but here I am. There are several kayak launches here is one of them and another one. I threw my 6-ft cast net in one of these and then one throw I had at least 100 finger mullet from 2 to 4 in on average. Those obviously are just the bait, needless to say I did not keep them all as I don't need that many but it's always nice when you throw the net once and get all the bait you need.

Here are some of the roads they look really bad and I'm dogging the old minivan some, but the holes are not as bad as they look you just keep going slowly and get through them try to stick to the edges where possible.

As I dictate this to my smartphone, I'm sitting here in the breeze looking across the bay. Fixing to go check out the beach on the Gulf side across the street then maybe just drive around some and see how the other half lives.

You do not live on one of these islands but that you don't have some good money.
The road is actually kind of fun to drive with the ups and downs, wish I had a Jeep or a truck.

I checked it out for potential camping and yeah if you can park somewhere at night and be left alone you could conceivably camp here but I'm not going to I'm just making a day trip of it today, perhaps in the future. More pictures. The typical woods around here are fairly thick it would make for a exciting time finding a spot to pitch a tent, but it can be done if you are determined.

One must come prepared, I have a Jack and a spare tire. Gallon or two of gas some distilled water some transmission fluid oil some radiator fluid 4-way lug wrench jack stand basic assortment of tools. Evidently this is not be kind to my minivan day you can just imagine the salt intrusion that's in these puddles on this road. Took one of the back rear seats out to have more room for cargo.

My 10 ft kayak fits snugly in the back of the van with the door secured.

Just saw a very large male black spiny tailed iguana.

They are invasive here. By the time I went back around to get my phone and kicked my Crocs off to make a quiet barefoot approach around the corner, he was gone in the bush and then walking back I just saw a beautiful brilliant green small baby iguana about the size of our native lizards he escaped the camera unfortunately who knows maybe I'll spend some time wandering around here and see if I can't catch a baby to make a pet of....

There are very few people here I've only seen two. Bet your sweet ass that changes come January and February and March and some of April.....

Blackhawk helicopters traveling down the coast just a moment ago they look kind of military to me I don't know if you can see them very well or not in this picture unless you can zoom in but they were definitely Blackhawks.

I have seen several more baby iguanas I don't know if you can zoom in and see the one on this fence post but it's the one closest to the right side he's on the top of the angled cut part. They are crafty little buggers it won't be easy to catch one

Last picture is a regular old boat ramp not just a kayak launch at least you could get a decent sized boat in here my beer can is down in the center by the water's edge for scale comparison

Oh absolutely so you can do it in the winter months but certainly not the summer and my my AC doesn't work anyways and only the driver's window rolls down and the two tiny vent windows in the back. But when I'm on back roads I will drive with the passenger side rear door open because you know it's a minivan the type that slide back and lock in place. I certainly won't do it on any highway or at speeds above 35 or so but it never gave me a problem you can have a Jeep with no doors I don't see why minivan door being open will be a problem.

No other passengers in it no crap to fall out. I'm sure that's kind of important
