Also heard for months and MONTHS PRIOR to the election from the Left that Trump was personally responsible for every Covid death AND more egregiously that some (yeah, SHE said it) wouldn't trust a vaccine made under the Trump regime.....I believe it's called "politics", akin to cleaning port-a-potties or petting wild skunks, those who indulge are likely to come away reeking......:D

Yes some on here think the 2400 vaccinated deaths make the vaccine so reliable it it will be no worse than the common cold.

CNBC Poll shows very little will persuade unvaccinated Americans to get Covid shots.

A 0.00145% death rate seems pretty safe and reliable.

Hell, you are 8 times more likely to die in a car accident

I'm not sure why the public thinks that a vaccine which was effective should be just as effective against a new strain that is resistant to it. Oh, of course, they think that because the government tells them that. Since the government won't follow the science, it is important for the public to follow it.

He didn't say one had. You are criticizing something he didn't say.

I did. I was angry that government didn't learn from prohibition. The lessons were clear. But, as we know, government doesn't work from a perspective of common sense.

i am comparing established law and precedent to his speculation that a court must rule as he states. the government can require medical procedures, including vaccinations for a long list of communicable diseases.

Vaccines have been mandatory for attending school from pre-K through college for longer than I have been alive.

I actually complain about that to this day. I understand the testing for actually being high but the historical tests I disagree with. I am one of the few in my line of work that complains about that.

There have been religious exemptions to that rule as well. I believe other exemptions too but I can’t remember that list.

There is a strong argument, however, that the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSH) permits the Labor Department to act. Among other things, that law permits the secretary of labor to issue an “emergency temporary standard” regarding workplace health or safety if they determine that “employees are exposed to grave danger from exposure to substances or agents determined to be toxic or physically harmful,” and that such a standard is “necessary to protect employees from such danger.”

Why Carefully Designed Public Vaccination Mandates Can—and Should—Withstand Constitutional Challenge

To what extent do individual rights limit government authority to mandate vaccination? Pre-pandemic precedents provide important—but incomplete—guidance to courts as they grapple with challenges to a rapidly rising wave of coronavirus vaccination mandates. The lower courts have consistently upheld vaccination mandates as a condition of school attendance and employment in certain sectors, but pre-coronavirus decisions relied heavily on Jacobson v. Massachusetts (1905) and Employment Division v. Smith (1990), precedents that the new Supreme Court majority evidently disfavors and may be primed to limit—or even overturn. Moreover, some coronavirus vaccination laws differ in significant ways from the typical vaccination requirements previously upheld by courts. As we explain below, carefully crafted coronavirus vaccination laws, with appropriate exemptions and penalties, are likely to survive constitutional challenges, but government lawyers and lower court judges would be wise to develop their reasoning in support of mandatory vaccination more fully, rather than relying on throwaway citations to Jacobson or Smith.

I see why some that think Trump created the vaccine fear it

"Anti-Vaccine Activist Says Trump Asked Him to Head Commission on Vaccine Safety" Jan. 10, 2017

    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/po...ist-after-raising-fringe-theory-trail-n705296

"After meeting with President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower Tuesday, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. told reporters that Trump has asked him to "chair a commission on vaccination safety and scientific integrity" and that he has accepted."

There is nothing temporary about a vaccine.

Misinterpreting OSHA's authority does nothing to advance your argument.

It’s not a misinterpretation. They’re asking people to do something that by no means is temporary
