Since further details, of my crash, appear to be necessary...

After four decades of using toe clips, I joined the clipless revolution.

I came upon Gomer, jogging along one edge of the trail and the dog trotting down the other edge. So, I just followed along, at a respectful distance, for a mile or so. When Gomer and the dog pulled off the trail, I saw my chance to go past. As I approached, the dog came running at me.

I stopped, while frantically pulling my feet up and back, as I've done for years. That motion doesn't work with clipless pedals. So I, and the bike, slowly teetered over onto our side.

    Arte Johnson would be proud.

Wrecked a motorbike once... the dog had completely crossed the street and as I approached it ran back into the street stood sideways and got pegged in the middle, must a broke it's back.. I got a little road rash, the dog's owners ran out concerned for their dog while the human lay in the road, some neighbors came to my first aid.

I didn't need, or want, any help. I'm happy that they just stayed away.

Sorry to hear that you crashed, like that. It's good that it wasn't any worse.

My dog would have been there checking everything to make sure all was well. It would have been an in your face moment.

Falling off a bike can make you feel so clumsy even if it wasn’t your fault. We were out bike riding and my husbands secretary pulled up to talked to him, he stopped too fast for me to stop and the road met me as I went down. Feeling foolish was all the injury I received thank goodness.

    Where are you?

C'mon man! I really, really want to hear more about how evil I am, and how I don't have any right to exist.

When is a personal attack not a personal attack?

    "When I do it".

We have four hummingbirds coming to the feeder now. They are natural born dive bombers. You can hear them when they hit each other.

I made crab apple and ginger chutney this week.
First time I've used crab apples and was worried they'd be a bit tart but the usual amount of sugar was enough.
I had intended to add some elderberries right at the end to give it a bit of colour but they were a bit over ripe. I should have made it a week earlier.
Sloes next, time for some sloe gin or maybe vodka.
The sloes look particularly good this year.

I made sloe tequila last time.
    Was very nice.
A much better sipping drink than the original tequila.

I expect brandy would work well too.
You get to see the colour of the berries best with clear spirits like gin or vodka though.

I have a major distaste for Tequila and 151 rum. I don't know much about brandy and such. My favorite whisky was Yukon Jack. A very sweet and smooth firewater.
