I see woodpeckers every day just about ever since I started hanging one of those suet feeders on a nail in a tree beside my house.

Anyway, with night temps now into the 40's, I have begun the month long end of the season odds and ends. Will be repotting plants outside and moving them indoors before frost but also need to organize indoors for the influx of plants. The worst offender is an 8 foot tall norfolk island pine. That thing has gotten to be a PITA.

I have been working on my deck. Got most of the roof over it and I have been taking the handrails down, rough sanding them, and oiling them with linseed oil. I then replace what needs replacing and put them back up. I have to extend the roof out to completely cover the steps and all. Since I am on a limited budget I do what I can when I can. I always have something to do. I want a zen space just oosing with feng shui. Pics will come later....before and after.

Had to google that. I'm missing the humor, or the reasoning for clamor over a 'hate crime'. The animal is giving a 'high five'*, it's existed for decades long before the word Nazi became a thing again.

*a gesture of celebration or greeting in which two people slap each other's open palm with their arms raised.

    Fuzz-butt is adorable.

You're also missing a ''u'' in humour and clamour. ;)

The game was invented by an American so I guess the US spelling is more appropriate but Scrabble themselves publish both an English and American dictionary to accompany the game.

Found out my job is ending in a year and a half. Owners retiring and say they will not be selling the business to anyone. Have to decide whether to start looking or stick it out and steal as much of their client base I can as I strike out on my own.....decisions decisions.

Offer to buy it, lock stock and barrel. If they were serious about not selling to anyone, which would be surprising, then tell them what your intentions are. They could start 'referring' their customers over to you which would be a better way to go rather than just poaching. My 2 cents, ignore at will.

I can only assume the decision not to sell means they don't want anybody into their books or records for one reason or the other or there is some big potential liability out there they are skating around.

If that is the issue, there are ways around seeing their books to come to a purchase agreement. If you believe there is a liability issue, then definitely don't buy the corporate entity. You buy the assets, and an agreement that the prior entity retains all liabilities, monetary or otherwise.

Poaching customers doesn't provide them with a positive perception of you. Referring them over gives both you and the previous people a cleaner, above board cast.

I've been through a few mergers and buy outs of smaller companies. There are multiple ways to see the same end results.

    Hope everyone is staying safe.
Nothing exciting going on here except two baby squirrels were on the patio. They are probably toddler squirrels, they can scurry around but seem to be clueless about what to do next.. I think they must have fell out of a tree. My husband said to leave them alone Mama will find them. I put one in a cat carrier and put it close to a tree with the door open. Placed some pecan pieces in so he/she could eat. One of the squirrels ran up the tree and maybe the other one will also go. Fingers crossed. I am not a fan of squirrels, but for them to stay safe, and live out their lives in the neighbors yard ...ha!

Why don't you ask them, they can tell you it is none of your buisness or give you a legitmate reason.

Squirrels probably have a nutty flavour around this time of year.
Nice young ones would be as tender as veal. :hungry:

They maybe on a lot of peoples shopping list if inflation keeps up..
. I think the little squirrel that was easy to catch is hurt. He is bleeding from his nose and probably hurt internally from the fall it took. A 20 ft fall is too far for a small squirrel.
