Yeah did you, he's been on leave working part time from home, what's your point? This is not some customer service job where he sits in an office answer customer complaints all day. As I said he needs to have his arse IN HIS OFFICE at the Executive Office Building holding the necessary meetings and giving the necessary directives and then on planes flying around the country meeting with directors of our ports, our rail systems and our trucking systems to get of out of this transportation crisis THE COUNTRY is in, it's not about HIM. He can't do that while he's home changing diapers. What's more important the country of Mayor Pete playing daddy, or pretending to be mommy I don't know which role he plays.

So you are asserting their is no role for the Department of Transportation here?

Yea cause everything is just hunky dory with our transporation system and we can all just wait until he is ready to come back to work to run the department he asked to run. We'll just let all the little children know that Mayor Pete being home with his baby was more important that food on the table and presents under the tree.

Why do you believe his personal family life is more important that that and let's not forget the jobs that are being effected because of parts shortages and material shortages.

A parent stays at home. The other GETS TO WORK. That's real life in the real world outside of government jobs.

Throwing the bigotry card when nothing of merit to add on full display here.

I URGE him to go home and care for his child if that is what he wants. I applaud him for wanting to do so. Turn in his notice and get out of the way of someone coming in the take of the extremely urgent matters facing the country. Why does his being with his baby if that is what he wants trump fixing this transportation crises we are seeing?

He doesn't own that position. He took it knowing the responsibilities and duties.

    Homophobia?

By any chance is there a word that describes the irrational fear of white people or America? If there I’m going to use it in a lot of threads.

Do you believe his office shuts down because he is not physically president?
The administration has already reached a deal with unions to operate the ports 24/7 clogged due to the almost 40% rise in shipments from 2020 and thousands of jobs lost due to COVID. They have already announced public and private partnerships to address the supply chain issues in our ports.

What other ideas do you have to speed the process up?

    Yes, homophobia:

“I am sure Pete will have his kid confused about his gender by the age of 5 and on hormones by 16. Gotta spread the mental illness, it ain't gonna spread itself.”, Bootychug, Bootygag, “Which one is chest feeding the baby? ;)”, “bootygig is chest feeding“

Please don’t insult the intelligence of everyone in this forum by suggesting it is anything else
    Yes, racism
Depends on the context; racism or xenophobia most likely

You would actually be supremely how many companies offer paternity leave — and how many countries came it compulsory for all companies.

    White supremacy.

White kids will grow up to oppress everything and everyone in sight. The only reason black actors and athletes make millions of dollars is because they work at the pleasure of their white masters and provide them with entertainment and profits.

    White privilege

From the day white kids are born they do not have to do anything to survive. The can commit crimes at will and no one will look back at 200 years of that kid’s history to find an excuse for leniency because he’ll get that for no other reason than he’s white.

    want me to go on?

Butti, being a public government figure is as open to criticism as Trump’s skin tone which seems to be fair game for the left.

He doesn't work for Europeans. In the real world of most Americans, the mother stays home to recoup and be a mother for 5-10 weeks....five being the norm. The couple as a norm, does not take off three months. That isn't a feasible or even logical option for most Americans. It's bad optics on his part and you do wonder how crucial a job like that is where he can just leave it for months.

He’s still working , according to your own link. The dept doesn’t need mayor Pete there all day every day to function.

Has nothing to do with your false assertion that 90% of US Dads take paternity leave. And certainly they don't take 2 months off while the US Goods Transportation system unravels.

Did Pete Butti think this was a No Show job like some of Hunter's gigs?

Except he didn’t just leave it. “For the first four weeks, he was mostly offline except for major agency decisions and matters that could not be delegated," a spokesperson for the Department of Transportation told Politico Playbook this week. "He has been ramping up activities since then."” The article lists the items that have been done to cure the supply chain issues
    • the Port of Los Angeles will work as a 24/7 operation
    • Walmart, which will increase its nighttime hours.
    • UPS, which is committing to an increased use of 24/7 operations and enhanced data sharing with ports
    • FedEx, which may double the volume of cargo it can move from ports at night.
    • Samsung is committing to move nearly 60% more containers out of the ports by operating 24/7
    • Home Depot is committing to move up to 10% additional containers per week
    • Target, which is moving about 50% of its containers at night, has committed to increasing that amount by 10%
    • more than 3,500 additional containers per week will move at night through the end of the year.
The White House this week said that Buttigieg and Port Envoy John Porcari will work with stakeholders and help more businesses access the expanded hours.

I think 3 months for both parents, especially for the first two or three children should be the norm. After that they are likely abusing the system.
Like most other civilized nations offer.

How dare you question Postpartum Pete's maternity leave. Didn't you see that sick ass photo shoot of him and his birthing person husband in the maternity ward bed together?

One or the two of them spit those suckers out, somehow, science be damned. /libs

Absolutely not. Docking has a whole different meaning in the LGBT community. Haha, but seriously him not being involved was probably a good thing.

I think it’s quaint you think the Feds are who can solve this. Feds will probably just complicate the process.
